Oh great, another Ann Wilson "Live in Concert" Blu-Ray – because we haven't suffered enough already πŸ™„ πŸ’ΏπŸŽ€πŸŽΆ

OMG! πŸ™„ Prepare yourselves, peasants, because TH Entertainment and Mercury Studios (aka Eagle Rock Entertainment – sounds like a retirement home for rockers, amirite? πŸ˜‚) are gracing us with a Blu-ray release of “Live In Concert” from the one and only Ann Wilson and her band… *checks notes*… TRIPSITTER. Yes, TRIPSITTER. Sounds like a babysitting service for drugged-out toddlers. πŸ‘ΆπŸ’Š This earth-shattering event, which originally aired on PBS (because, you know, PBS is where all the cool kids hang out πŸ€“) in November 2023, is coming to a screen near you on June 6. Mark your calendars, people! It’s not like there’s anything else happening in the world. πŸ™„

So, Queen Ann (yes, I’m being sarcastic) decided to bless Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl (because Madison Square Garden was probably booked πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ) in July 2023 during her “Another Door” tour. “Another Door”? More like “Another Snooze-fest,” am I right? 😴 Anyway, she brought along her band of merry men, TRIPSITTER (still laughing at that name πŸ˜‚), and performed an “energetic” set. Energetic for a grandma, maybe. πŸ‘΅ She sang some songs from her album, “Another Door” (which, let’s be honest, no one has heard of), and then, because she’s contractually obligated, she trotted out the HEART classics: “Crazy On You,” “Barracuda,” “Magic Man.” Yawn. πŸ₯± But wait, there’s more! She also butchered LED ZEPPELIN’s “Immigrant Song” and “Going To California.” Because nothing says “respect for musical legends” like a half-hearted cover by someone who peaked in the 80s. 🀘

“Another Door,” this record of *gasp* all-original material (as opposed to, you know, stealing songs from other artists? πŸ€”), marks the first time since the 1970s that Ann has written a full-length album *collectively* with a band. Oh, the horror! Imagine having to share the spotlight! 😱 TRIPSITTER, or as I like to call them, Ann’s Backup Dancers, consists of Tony Lucido (bass – probably plays it with his eyes closed 😴), Ryan Wariner (guitars – I bet he dreams of being Jimmy Page 🎸), Sean T Lane (drums – hopefully he doesn’t fall asleep on the kit πŸ₯), and Paul Moak (guitars and keyboards – the token multi-instrumentalist πŸ€“). Tom Bukovac (guitars – because you can never have too many guitars, right? πŸ™„) also contributed. And get this: “Another Door” was the first time in Ann’s career where she was the *sole* lyricist. Someone give this woman a Pulitzer! πŸ† (Sarcasm, people, sarcasm!)

Here’s the track listing, in case you’re a glutton for punishment:

01. Crazy On You (Because you can’t have an Ann Wilson concert without it. It’s like oxygen.)
02. This Is Now (No, this is boring. πŸ˜’)
03. Love Alive (Is it, though?)
04. Magic Man (More like Tragic Man, if you ask me. 😭)
05. Going To California (Why? Just why? 😫)
06. Ruler Of The Night (Queen Ann strikes again! πŸ‘‘)
07. Even It Up (Is that even possible at this point? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ)
08. Straight On (Straight to the bargain bin, maybe? πŸ—‘οΈ)
09. Miss One & Only (More like Miss Overrated. πŸ™„)
10. Rain Of Hell (Sounds about right. πŸ”₯)
11. Immigrant Song (RIP, Robert Plant’s vocal cords. πŸ™)
12. Mistral Wind (Is that a euphemism for something? πŸ€”)
13. Isolation (Accurate description of how you’ll feel listening to this album. πŸ˜”)
14. Tripsitter (Still laughing. πŸ˜‚)
15. Rusty Robots (Are they referring to her voice? πŸ€–)
16. Barracuda (The only reason anyone is still paying attention. 🐟)
