'One of Them Days' Sequel: Prepare for More Existential Dread

Oh, great, more Keke Palmer and SZA. 🙄 Because we *totally* needed a sequel to ‘One of Them Days.’ I mean, who wasn’t clamoring for more of this cinematic masterpiece? TriStar Pictures, bless their cotton socks, are apparently so creatively bankrupt that they’re dragging these two back for another round of… whatever that movie was.

So, ‘One of Them Days’ is getting a sequel, because apparently, Hollywood has run out of original ideas. 🤯 Keke Palmer and SZA are expected to return, because who else would star in this… uh… *gem*? Director Lawrence Lamont and writer Syreeta Singleton are also potentially back, because why mess with a “winning” formula? And Issa Rae is producing, probably wondering what she got herself into. 🤣

Remember ‘One of Them Days’? No? Well, let me remind you of the cinematic brilliance: Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) are best friends who need to find rent money because Alyssa’s boyfriend is a complete moron. 🤦‍♀️ Set in South Los Angeles, it’s like ‘Friday’ but somehow less funny. It also featured Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, and a whole bunch of other people you’ve probably seen in something else.

The movie made $50 million worldwide, which is apparently a “breakout hit” these days. 🙄 It also has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which just proves that critics will praise anything. It was also on Netflix’s top 10 for three weeks, because people have terrible taste. 🤷‍♀️

Apparently, this whole thing was born from some CoCre lab at Sony Pictures, where the script sat for seven years. SEVEN YEARS! ⏳ That’s how long it took to come up with this… thing.

So, what will the sequel be about? Nobody knows! But don’t worry, we’ll probably get more of Dreux and Alyssa struggling with their lives, because that’s just so relatable. 🙄 And hopefully Keyla Monterroso Mejia will get more screen time, because she was the only good thing about the first movie. 🌟

As for what else Keke Palmer and SZA are doing, Palmer has ‘The Pickup’ with Eddie Murphy, because apparently she’s trying to revive his career. She’s also in Aziz Ansari’s ‘Good Fortune,’ ‘The Angry Birds Movie 3,’ and Boots Riley’s ‘I Love Boosters.’ SZA is in a documentary series and Eddie Huang’s ‘Tuna Melt,’ because why not? 🤷‍♀️

When will the ‘One of Them Days’ sequel be in theaters? Who cares! 🤣 TriStar will probably wait to see if anyone actually wants to see it before setting a release date. So, yeah, get ready for more Keke Palmer and SZA, whether you like it or not. 😜
