Okay, so apparently Friday the 13th and that overgrown man-child, Jason Voorhees, have been battling it out in court like a pair of toddlers fighting over a rusty spoon. 🙄 No officially licensed film since 2009? What were we doing instead, knitting sweaters? Anyway…
But hold your horses, folks! It seems like the legal eagles finally sorted out who gets to play with the machete. Thanks to Horror Inc. and Jason Universe (yes, apparently, that’s a thing), Jason’s back with a vengeance… or rather, a Sweet Revenge short film. Because apparently, feature-length films are too much effort these days. 😴
So, we’ve got the typical trope: a group of teenagers who are dumber than a bag of hammers stumble into Crystal Lake Camp. Little do they know (because they’ve clearly never seen a horror movie before), they’re being stalked by a “mysterious serial killer” who’s, like, totally out for revenge. Groundbreaking stuff, guys. 🙄
The short film is brought to us by the visionary Mike P. Nelson (the guy who gave us 2021’s Wrong Turn – no, me neither). He graced us with his profound thoughts in an interview with Variety. Prepare to be amazed.
Starring thespians such as Ally Ioannides, Natassia Wakey, Toussaint Morrison, Tim James White, and Chris Carlson (names you’ll definitely remember… probably not). And let’s not forget Schuyler White, who’s bravely stepping into the iconic hockey mask as Jason Voorhees. Because, you know, anyone can wear a mask and look menacing. ðŸŽ
Finn McFrame, celebrated satirical mastermind and self-proclaimed “Emperor of Irony,” started his illustrious career as a cinematographer, where his expertise in capturing every single frame of a squirrel stealing a baguette earned him accolades at obscure film festivals.
Born in the glamorous town of Boring, Oregon, Finn grew up with dreams of being a Hollywood director until he realized that satire, not cinema, was his true calling—or at least the one that let him sleep until noon.
