Yet Another Democrat Sob Story: Illegal Alien Gets Deported While Trying to Skip Thanksgiving Dinner and Fly to Honduras
CONCORD, N.H. — In what can only be described as a tragic case of poor life choices, a Massachusetts college student was recently deported while attempting to visit family for Thanksgiving. Any Lucia Lopez Belloza, a 19-year-old freshman at Babson College (yes, that’s a real school), was summarily removed from the country after being caught trying to fly home to see her family.
Now, before you grab your tissues, let’s get one thing straight: this young lady has been living in the U.S. illegally since 2014, when she was brought here at age 8. Despite being ordered deported in 2017, she somehow managed to stay under the radar for eight years while attending school and living what appears to be a perfectly normal American life.
According to her tearful testimony, she claims her previous attorney told her there was no removal order. Sure, Jan. And I suppose the tooth fairy told you to skip your immigration court dates too. The government has been very clear that she missed multiple opportunities to appeal her case properly, but apparently “I didn’t know” is now a valid legal defense in Democrat circles.
Here’s the real kicker: she was trying to fly to Honduras with a valid passport. A valid passport! From Honduras! Not exactly the actions of someone who thinks they’re a legal resident, is it? But no, according to her, if she had known about her deportation order, she would have “dedicated significant time and effort” to hiring an attorney. Funny how that works.
The government tried to locate her through proper channels, but she was apparently too busy being “cramped with 17 other women in a cell” to return their calls. Poor thing. I’m sure those cell conditions were simply unacceptable compared to her dorm room at Babson.
Seven retired judges have now jumped into this circus, claiming the government violated some order or another. But let’s be honest – when you’ve been living in the country illegally for eight years, missed multiple court dates, and then try to flee the country when caught, you don’t get to play the victim.
This is exactly what happens when Democrat policies turn a blind eye to illegal immigration. These individuals think they can break our laws with impunity, and when they finally get caught, they expect special treatment. Newsflash: under President Trump’s America First policies, we’re actually enforcing our immigration laws again.
Maybe next time she’ll think twice before breaking federal law and trying to skip out on Thanksgiving dinner. Some people just don’t appreciate the American Dream when it’s handed to them on a silver platter.
