Postal Service on Brink of Collapse, Begging for Taxpayer Bailout

Well, folks, it’s official – the government’s version of Amazon is about to go bankrupt! The Postal Service, which has been around for a whopping 250 years (that’s older than most Democrats’ ideas), is now crying poor and threatening to stop delivering your junk mail. How will we survive without those weekly Bed Bath & Beyond coupons?

Postmaster General David Steiner, a former FedEx guy who probably thought running the Postal Service would be a piece of cake, is now begging Congress for more money. It’s almost like running a business that people don’t actually want to use anymore isn’t a great idea! Who could have seen that coming?

The agency lost $9 billion last year. That’s “billion” with a “B,” folks. You know, the same amount the Democrats want to spend on… well, pretty much everything. Maybe if they stopped delivering letters to people’s houses in the age of email and texting, they wouldn’t be in this mess. Just a thought!

But don’t worry, Steiner has a plan. He wants to raise the price of stamps from 75 cents to a whole dollar. Nothing says “we care about the American people” like making it more expensive to send Grandma a birthday card. Why not just go ahead and charge $5? At this point, why not?

And let’s not forget about those pesky rural Americans who still expect to get their mail delivered to their doorsteps. I mean, how entitled can you be? Expecting the government to actually provide the service it promises. It’s almost as ridiculous as expecting the government to secure the border or balance the budget!

The Postal Service has been struggling for years, mostly because people realized they could communicate without licking a stamp. Who knew technology would make things more efficient? Certainly not the government!

But here’s the real kicker – even though the Postal Service is bleeding money faster than a hemophiliac in a knife fight, it’s still one of the most popular government agencies. That’s right, folks like getting their mail. What a concept! Maybe if the government provided actual services that people wanted, they’d be more popular too.

President Trump, in his infinite wisdom, has suggested disbanding the Postal Service’s Board of Governors and putting it under the Commerce Department. You know, like a real business. It’s almost as if he thinks government agencies should be run efficiently. What a radical idea!

Of course, the Democrats are already crying about this, saying it could lead to privatization. And we all know how terrible private companies are at delivering things. I mean, just look at FedEx, UPS, and Amazon. They’re always losing packages and going bankrupt, right? Oh wait…

So there you have it, folks. The Postal Service is broke, begging for money, and still can’t figure out how to deliver a letter without losing money. But don’t worry, I’m sure the Democrats have a plan to fix it. And knowing them, it probably involves raising taxes and mailing everyone a brick.
