Robbie Williams gave a group of fans in Buenos Aires an unexpected warm-up for his long-awaited return to Argentine stages with an impromptu performance outside his hotel. On Tuesday evening, Williams emerged from the Faena Hotel in Buenos Aires’ Puerto Madero neighborhood to greet a group of roughly 30 to 40 fans who had gathered outside. After spending several minutes talking and taking photos with them, the British singer returned with his guitarist and treated the crowd to a four-song acoustic performance.
The surprise comes less than a week after Robbie Williams staged a similar impromptu performance outside his hotel in Lima, Peru. After his September 24th concert was canceled due to safety issues at the venue, he met disappointed fans outside his hotel and led them in a rendition of “Angels.”
Upcoming Tour Dates
Williams is now preparing to play three sold-out concerts at Movistar Arena on October 1st, 2nd, and 4th, marking his first performances in Argentina in 20 years. The singer last took the stage in the country with two concerts at River Plate Stadium in October 2006. He was scheduled to return in 2018 as a headliner for Personal Fest, but severe weather forced organizers to cancel the festival’s opening day.
At the time, Williams addressed fans from his Buenos Aires hotel, saying he was “absolutely devastated” and emphasizing that the cancellation was outside his control. “We’ll try to organize ourselves to come back,” he said. The performance was never rescheduled.
