Oh boy, are you guys ready for some epic news? 🤯 Tom Morello, the legendary guitarist of Rage Against the Machine, is still talking about how much he loves heavy metal, and honestly, who can blame him? I mean, have you listened to Iron Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast” lately? 🤘 It’s like the ultimate metal album. Anyway, Morello was chatting with Star FM 87.9 in Berlin, Germany, and he couldn’t stop raving about his favorite metal bands, including Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. He even mentioned that he’s been a spokesperson for metal since he was 15 years old, and he’s never shut up about it. 😂
So, what’s the big deal about Morello’s love for metal? Well, it turns out that he’s not just a fan, but he’s also been working hard to get some of his favorite metal bands into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He’s been a member of the nominating committee for almost 15 years and has successfully campaigned for bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Rush to be inducted. 🙌 And let’s be real, it’s about time these bands got the recognition they deserve. I mean, have you seen Judas Priest’s documentary “The Ballad of Judas Priest”? It’s like a masterclass in metal. 🤓
But Morello isn’t just stopping at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He’s also been working on his own music, including his first solo rock album “Everyone Gets Everything They Want”, which features some pretty cool collaborations with artists like Serj Tankian and Beartooth. 🤟 And if that’s not enough, he’s also been touring with his 15-year-old son Roman, who’s apparently a guitar prodigy. 🤯 Like, what’s next? Is he going to start a metal band with his kid? 🤣
The Metal Revolution
So, is heavy metal finally getting the recognition it deserves? According to Morello, the answer is yes. He thinks that bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are destroying it right now, and it’s not just old guys like me who are into it. 🤘 There are multiple generations of metal fans out there, and it’s amazing to see. I mean, have you been to a metal festival lately? It’s like a sea of headbanging, horn-throwing, metal-loving madness. 🤯 And Morello thinks that it’s a testament to just how great the music is. 🙌
But what about the politics of metal? Should more bands be writing songs about social justice and politics? Morello thinks that it’s not about being political, it’s about being authentic. 🤔 If you’re writing about groupies and parties, that’s cool, as long as it’s real. But if you’re writing about injustice and you’re not being honest, then you’re doing yourself and your fans a disservice. 🙅♂️ And let’s be real, some metal bands have been writing about politics for years. I mean, have you listened to Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs”? It’s like a powerful anti-war statement. 🤯
The Future of Metal
So, what’s next for Tom Morello and the world of metal? Well, it looks like Morello is going to keep on doing what he’s doing – making music, touring, and advocating for social justice. 🙌 And if his solo album is any indication, we can expect some pretty cool things from him in the future. 🤟 And as for metal, it’s clear that it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. With bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest still killing it, and new generations of fans discovering the genre, it’s a great time to be a metalhead. 🤘 So, let’s raise a horn (or two) to Tom Morello and the world of heavy metal. May it never die. 🤘🤘🤘
And finally, can we just take a moment to appreciate how cool Tom Morello is? I mean, the guy is a legend, and he’s still out there making music and fighting for what he believes in. 🙌 What a hero. 🤘 Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go listen to some Iron Maiden and pretend I’m a teenager again. 🤣🎸🤘
