CNN is at it again, folks! They’re whining about President Trump’s tariffs, claiming companies are using “Depression-era” policies to avoid them. Oh no, companies are using LEGAL foreign trade zones (FTZs) to, gasp, not pay tariffs immediately!
These FTZs have been around since 1934, but suddenly they’re a problem because Trump is making America great again by holding other countries accountable for their unfair trade practices? CNN says interest in these zones has quadrupled since Trump’s tariffs. Translation: Companies are wising up and using the tools available to them to thrive under a President who puts America first.
CNN admits nearly $1 trillion worth of goods was imported into these zones in 2023, employing over half a million people. But they still try to spin it as a negative. The city of Phoenix says for each job in the FTZ, it generates 3-6 additional jobs. But the liberal media wants you to believe Trump’s tariffs are bad for the economy. Don’t fall for it!
Of course, there’s a “major problem” according to CNN. Companies now have to pay the tariff rate on the inputs, not the finished product, which is often higher. Cry me a river! These companies have been getting away with murder for too long. It’s time they pay their fair share and support American jobs.
