Apple Original Films, bless their cotton socks, has dropped a trailer and poster for “Come See Me in the Good Light,” which is allegedly a “poignant” and “unexpectedly funny” love story about two poets, Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley. 🙄 Apparently, they’re facing an incurable cancer diagnosis with so much joy, wit, and an “unshakable partnership” that it’s basically a hallmark movie waiting to happen. I bet they also find a unicorn and a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. 🌈 You know, because terminal illness is HILARIOUS. 😂 They’re transforming pain into purpose! Mortality into a moving celebration of resilience! Somebody get me a bucket. 🤮
“Come See Me in the Good Light” is directed by Ryan White, because who else would want to direct this cinematic masterpiece? He also produces alongside Jessica Hargrave, Tig Notaro (who probably just wanted a free vacation) and Stef Willen. I’m sure they all had very important creative input, like deciding what filter to use on the tears. 😭
Since the documentary’s world premiere at the Sundance International Film Festival (where, let’s be honest, anything artsy gets an award), “Come See Me in the Good Light” has won numerous honours.🥇 It won Sundance’s Festival Favorite Award (because everyone loves a good sob story), San Francisco International Film Festival’s Audience Award (the audience probably thought it was a comedy), Hot Docs’ Audience Award (because who needs medical dramas when you can have a real one?), Seattle International Film Festival’s Best Documentary Award (they were probably paid off). 💰 and more! (I bet the “more” includes a participation trophy from a local film club).
Apple Original Films’ “Come See Me in the Good Light” will premiere in select US cinemas (so, like, two) and stream globally on Apple TV on 14th November 2025. Mark your calendars, folks! Set your reminders! Prepare to be mildly inconvenienced! 🗓️ Because nothing says “quality entertainment” like watching someone else’s existential dread from the comfort of your own couch. 🛋️
