Punta Cana, Dominican Republic — This past weekend, the Tool in the Sand festival turned into a musical Groundhog Day, courtesy of the band Tool. Inspired by the audience’s reaction, the band decided to transform their concerts into an endless loop of repetition. Now, fans can enjoy the same setlist over and over, and over… and over again.
Lead singer Maynard James Keenan announced:
“We were blown away by how enthusiastically our fans embraced the same songs two days in a row. It was a real success! Now we’re ready to play the same setlist not just three, but four, or even five times in a row!”
Fans who shelled out $3,000 for a ticket were pleasantly surprised to find that their favorite band decided not to bother with variety. “It’s like watching your favorite movie on repeat, just without the fast-forward button,” shared one festival-goer.

Videos from the festival showing the crowd booing Tool were interpreted by the band as a roaring approval. “We don’t know the local language, but judging by the emotions on our fans’ faces, they were absolutely thrilled,” Keenan commented. “We’re even ready to play the same thing for more days! It’s a new level of musical experience.”
While other bands like Primus and Mastodon are racking their brains on how to surprise their fans, Tool has found the perfect solution: just don’t change anything. After all, why fix what isn’t broken?
