Dead by Daylight Summons Geriatric Zombie Killers: Rick, Michonne, and Daryl Shuffle Uneasily into The Fog

Dead by Daylight Walking Dead

Oh, great, more content for Dead by Daylight. As if we needed more reasons to get camped in the basement. Behaviour Interactive, bless their greedy little hearts, are dragging AMC’s The Walking Dead kicking and screaming into The Fog. Because nothing says “horror” like a show that peaked in its first season and then devolved into a soap opera with zombies. 🙄

So, Dead by Daylight is unleashing a horde of walkers just in time for summer, because nothing says “refreshing summer fun” like rotting corpses. This crossover event—because apparently, the game wasn’t already a chaotic mess of licensed characters—features The Walking Dead. We’re getting Rick Grimes and Michonne as Survivors, because who wouldn’t want to play as characters who make questionable decisions in a post-apocalyptic world? And, because one character isn’t enough, they’re throwing in a Legendary Outfit that turns someone into Daryl Dixon. Because, let’s be honest, everyone loves a crossbow-wielding redneck. 🏹

But wait, there’s more! These new survivors come with six unique character Perks that emphasize teamwork. Because in a game where everyone is trying to survive, nothing is more realistic than expecting people to actually work together. And, to make it even better, they got Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus to do the voice acting. Because nothing screams “immersion” like actors phoning it in for a paycheck. 💰 Check out the trailer below, if you dare.

Dead by Daylight x The Walking Dead – Rick Grimes & Michonne Unique Perks

Apparently, Rick Grimes and Michonne are all about teamwork, just like in the show where they constantly bickered and made terrible decisions. Rick’s perks channel his “leadership skills,” because nothing says “leader” like hiding in a locker. Here are their perks, because you totally care:

  • Apocalyptic Ingenuity – Rummage through Chests to gain the ability to replace a Broken Pallet with a Fragile Pallet. Because who needs good pallets when you can have ones that break even faster?
  • Come and Get Me! – After Unhooking a Survivor, while crouched and idle you may use an Ability to make all nearby injured and dying Survivors completely silent and hide their Pools of Blood. In exchange, you’ll scream and briefly reveal your Aura to the Killer. Because nothing says “teamwork” like sacrificing yourself for the greater good.
  • Teamwork: Toughen Up – When another nearby Survivor Pallet stuns or blinds the Killer while you’re injured, your Grunts of Pain, Scratch Marks, and Pools of Blood will be completely reduced for a duration. Because who needs to be healed when you can just pretend you’re not injured?

Michonne has a perk with the same name as Rick, but it functions in a completely different manner, adding synergy to the teamwork between both survivors. Because, you know, they’re totally in sync. 🙄

  • Conviction – Heal Survivors to activate Conviction. While recovering in the Dying State, gain the ability to instantly recover for a brief window. You will become Broken and return to the Dying State if you don’t manage to heal in time. Because who needs to stay healed when you can yo-yo between life and death?
  • Last Stand – After spending in the Killer’s Terror Radius while not in chase, Fast-Vault while near the Killer to stun them for a duration. Because vaulting into a killer is always a good idea.
  • Teamwork – Toughen Up: Successfully pallet stun a Killer to temporarily give nearby injured Survivors Endurance and reveal the Killer’s Aura to them. Because sharing is caring, especially when it comes to near-death experiences.

Of course, there’s a new Dead by Daylight x The Walking Dead Collection featuring new outfits. Because what’s a crossover without some overpriced cosmetics? We’re getting the Legendary Daryl Dixon Outfit, Rick’s Last Day On Earth Outfit, his Brutal Awakening Outfit, and several Uncommon recolours. Michonne is getting The Next World Outfit, the What We Become Outfit, and several Uncommon recolours like Rick. But, shockingly, there’s no Killer from The Walking Dead. Maybe they realized that adding another overpowered killer would break the game even more. Or maybe they just ran out of ideas. 🤷‍♀️

So, The Walking Dead will start roaming Dead by Daylight on July 29. Get ready to be disappointed all over again! 🎉 Check out the official website if you want to waste more time. 😜
