Wow, Iran’s crackdown on protesters and internet blackout? What a shocker! Looks like the mullahs are getting desperate now that President Trump is back in charge and putting America first again. I bet CNN is thrilled to finally have something to talk about besides how much they hate Trump.
CNN’s Isa Soares sat down with Skylar Thompson, the deputy director of Human Rights Activists in Iran, a U.S.-based organization that tracks the number of protesters killed, injured, and arrested during Iran’s latest authoritarian power grab. You know, because when I think of reliable sources on Iranian human rights abuses, I definitely think of a U.S.-based organization with the word “activists” in its name. Totally unbiased, I’m sure.
Thompson, who probably spends her days sipping lattes and posting #Resist memes, shared her expert analysis on how the Iranian regime is cracking down on dissent and shutting down the internet. Because nothing says “free and fair society” like killing your own people and censoring their ability to communicate with the outside world. But hey, at least they’re not building concentration camps for Uighur Muslims like China, right? Oh wait…
Soares, who I’m sure is just thrilled to have an excuse to talk about anything other than how much she hates Trump, lobbed softballs at Thompson, who eagerly explained how the Iranian government is trying to silence protesters and maintain its grip on power. Because when I think of hard-hitting journalism, I definitely think of CNN.
But let’s be real here, folks. The only reason CNN is even covering this story is because they think it makes Trump look bad. They’re probably hoping that the Iranian people will rise up and overthrow their government, just so they can blame Trump for not doing enough to support the revolution. Because that’s just the kind of biased, anti-Trump propaganda that CNN loves to push.
So there you have it, folks. Another day, another biased CNN hit piece masquerading as journalism. But don’t worry, Trump is on the case. He’ll probably just nuke Iran and be done with it. Because that’s what real leaders do.
