War with Iran spirals out of control as Trump’s shock-and-awe strategy backfires

Less than two weeks into President Trump’s war with Iran, the entire operation has descended into chaos as the US and Israel find themselves bogged down in an escalating conflict they can’t seem to control.

What was supposed to be a quick, decisive strike to decapitate Iran’s leadership and force regime change has instead turned into a bloody quagmire that’s destabilizing the entire Middle East.

The initial strikes killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other top officials. But rather than collapsing, the Iranian regime has rallied around Khamenei’s hardliner son Mojtaba and launched a furious counteroffensive that’s caught US allies off guard.

Iranian missiles have rained down on Israel, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other regional targets. The Iranians have also effectively shut down the strategic Strait of Hormuz, cutting off 20% of the world’s oil supply and sending gas prices in the US soaring to nearly $4 per gallon.

“This is exactly what we feared would happen if we went to war with Iran,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal. “Trump and his team had no realistic plan for what comes next.”

Trump has dismissed concerns, insisting the US is “winning in many ways” and that the war will only last “four to five weeks.” But as the fighting drags on with no end in sight, even many Republicans are losing faith in the administration’s muddled strategy.

The economic fallout has been severe, with global markets in turmoil and energy prices skyrocketing. The Trump administration has been caught flat-footed, scrambling to organize evacuations of Americans from the region and offer to insure oil tankers – with little success so far.

“We’re in way over our heads here,” admitted one senior Trump official. “Iran is proving far more resilient than we expected. This could go on for months or even years.”

As the war rages on with no clear exit strategy, many are questioning whether Trump rushed into this conflict without thinking through the consequences. His promise of a quick, decisive victory has instead turned into an open-ended quagmire that’s destabilizing the region and threatening to derail his domestic agenda.
