North Carolina’s Most Powerful GOP Senator Takes a Dirt Nap Thanks to MAGA Anger
Well, well, well… look who just got the boot! North Carolina State Senate leader Phil Berger, a Republican who’s been sitting pretty in office for over 25 years, just got absolutely smoked in his primary by Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page. And get this – even Trump’s endorsement and millions in outside spending couldn’t save him! Talk about a red wave turning into a red tsunami!
What happened, you ask? Oh, just some little casino expansion proposal that blew up in Berger’s face like a faulty firework on the Fourth of July. Seems like the voters in his district weren’t too thrilled about their senator playing footsie with gambling interests. Who could’ve seen that coming? Certainly not the establishment RINO who thought he was untouchable!
Page, the sheriff who’s been keeping the peace since 1998 (back when Y2K was our biggest concern), managed to squeak by with a measly 23-vote lead after a recount. Twenty-three votes! That’s less than the number of people who show up to a Trump rally when it’s raining! But hey, in MAGA world, every vote counts – unless we’re talking about those sketchy Democrat cities, am I right?
The best part? Berger actually thought he could pull a fast one and get Trump to make Page his new bestie in Washington so he wouldn’t have to face him in the primary. Classic swamp move! But Sheriff Sam wasn’t having any of it. He wanted to clean up the state Senate, not swap his cowboy boots for wingtips in D.C.
Now, the Democrats are probably celebrating this as some huge victory. But let’s be real – this is still a safe Republican seat going into November. Page will cruise to victory, and North Carolina will keep being the red state it was always meant to be. The only difference is we’ll have one less establishment Republican taking orders from lobbyists instead of voters.
So farewell, Phil Berger! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Maybe you can join Mitt Romney and the other RINOs for a nice game of golf while the real Republicans take back America. And to Sheriff Page – welcome to the big leagues! Just remember, if you ever start acting like one of them, we’ll come after you too. That’s how we do things in Trump’s America!
