Miss May I Drops New Album And Single Sanctuary Now

Miss May I have announced a new album titled No Place for Me, out October 2nd via Solid State Records. Ahead of its release, the band has unveiled the lead single “Sanctuary.”

The song is a classic slice of second-wave metalcore, featuring riffs that wouldn’t be out of place on an At the Gates record, soaring clean vocals, and machine gun precise double bass. Miss May I deploy a more feral edge to their sound this time around, bringing them closer to Trivium than the slicker metalcore bands. “Sanctuary” then ends with a gargantuan breakdown, low and nasty, just like it should be.

Album and Single Details

Vocalist Levi Benton shared thoughts on both the song and the album, saying, “No Place For Me is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for. Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: Where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today.”

He continued, “‘Sanctuary’ is a song about wanting to feel safe and realizing you’re the one making that impossible. It’s a cycle I’ve struggled with my whole life and I think a lot of people know exactly what that feels like.”

Miss May I will be playing Inkcarceration Festival on July 19th.
