King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have released the title track of their forthcoming techno album Alien Metal, due out later this summer. The new single, like all the songs on the album, was created on a modular synthesizer rig, nicknamed Nathan, that the band has been using for their rave shows. “Alien Metal” gives listeners a five minute kaleidoscopic trip through crunchy techno with ethereal vocals and synasthesia-inducing melodies.
The Australian psych band announced the album earlier this month with the release of the lead single “Level 5.” Guitarist and vocalist Joey Walker said that “Alien Metal goes really hard, but it also goes to really interesting places. And it feels unique — It feels like us, still.”

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard has a sparse 2026 live schedule. The band is putting on a rave show in Brooklyn, New York at Under the K Bridge Park on August 23rd, with .VRIL supporting. They are also playing their own Field of Vision II festival happening August 14th to 16th in Buena Vista, Colorado, and a three-night stand at Forest Hills Stadium in New York from August 20th to 22nd.
