Alright, buckle up, buttercups, because Gavin Rossdale from BUSH (yes, *that* BUSH) just dropped some profound wisdom on Baltimore’s 98 Rock radio station. He’s been yapping about the lyrical genius behind their upcoming album, “I Beat Loneliness.” I mean, come on, the title alone screams “deep, man.” 🙄 He basically said he’s old now and can see the horizon. Which, let’s be honest, probably just means he needs stronger reading glasses. He also claims he’s trying to “improve the silence.” Dude, silence is golden! Why mess with perfection? 🤣 Anyway, the album drops July 18 via earMUSIC, so get ready to have your minds… mildly inconvenienced.
Apparently, BUSH already unleashed a new single called “60 Ways To Forget People.” Oh, the originality! It’s about heartbreak, personal transformation, and letting go. Groundbreaking stuff, really. 🙄 I bet it’s just a rehash of every other angsty 90s song, but with more auto-tune. They’re really pushing the envelope here, folks! I bet the 61st way is just to start listening to literally anything else. 🤷♀️
“I Beat Loneliness” is album number ten for BUSH. Ten! Who knew they were still around? 🤯 It’s produced by Rossdale himself and Erik Ron (who, apparently, has worked with PANIC! AT THE DISCO, SET IT OFF, and BAD OMEN – talk about a diverse resume of mediocrity). They’re blending their “grunge-rooted intensity” with “fresh textures and themes” about mental health, solitude, and resilience. Translation: it’s gonna be loud, depressing, and probably feature a lot of mumbling. But hey, at least they’re tackling the important stuff, right? 🙃
Here’s the track listing for “I Beat Loneliness”:
01. Scars (Because who doesn’t love a good cliché?)
02. I Beat Loneliness (The title track! Get ready for some existential dread.)
03. The Land Of Milk And Honey (Is this about Brexit? Probably not.)
04. We’re All The Same On The Inside (So deep, man. So deep.)
05. I Am Here To Save Your Life (Gavin, are you sure you’re not just trying to sell more albums?)
06. 60 Ways To Forget People (We already covered this gem.)
07. Love Me Till The Pain Fades (More pain? Yay!)
08. We Are Of This Earth (No duh.)
09. Everyone Is Broken (Thanks for the uplifting message, guys!)
10. Don’t Be Afraid (Of what? The music?)
11. Footsteps In The Sand (Is this a metaphor? I’m too tired to care.)
12. Rebel With A Cause (What cause? Midlife crisis?)
To celebrate this momentous occasion, BUSH is embarking on a world tour! 🌍 They’re hitting North America first, then teaming up with VOLBEAT in Europe. Prepare yourselves, Europe! You’re about to get a double dose of… something. 🤪
In another interview (because apparently, Gavin loves to hear himself talk), he whined about how “no one cares” about full albums anymore. Poor baby. He wants us to appreciate his “body of work.” Honey, most of us are just trying to survive. We don’t have time for your musical navel-gazing. 🙄 But hey, at least he understands that most people will just listen to one song and move on. Self-awareness: 1, Gavin: 0.
When asked what fans can expect from the new album, Gavin said it’s similar to their last two albums: “super detuned, super heavy, but there’s moments of light.” So, basically, it’s the same old BUSH, just slightly louder and with a few acoustic ballads thrown in to trick you into thinking they’ve evolved. 🙄 He also mentioned mental health and well-being, because apparently, that’s the hot topic these days. He wants the music to be “like a medicine.” I think I’d rather just take an actual pill, thanks. 💊
He then rambled about the title “I Beat Loneliness,” saying it’s “impossible” to actually beat loneliness, but it’s a “beautiful” idea. 🤦♀️ So, the whole album is based on a lie? Got it. He also said you can’t be “smiling like a moron the whole time.” Well, Gavin, some of us actually enjoy life. Maybe you should try it sometime. 🤷♂️

Oh, and by the way, 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of “Sixteen Stone.” Thirty years of the same three chords. Impressive. 👴
Last summer, they celebrated their 30th anniversary with a tour. Because nothing says “celebration” like playing the same songs to a dwindling crowd. 🎉
They also released a “Greatest Hits” album, which included a new song called “Nowhere To Go But Everywhere.” Deep. So deep. 🌊
The current lineup is Gavin, Chris Traynor, Corey Britz, and Nik Hughes. You know, the usual suspects. 🧑🤝🧑
BUSH broke up in 2002 but reformed in 2010. Because apparently, nostalgia is a powerful drug. 💉
Their album “Black And White Rainbows” was inspired by Gavin’s divorce from Gwen Stefani. So, basically, it’s a breakup album disguised as a BUSH album. Sneaky. 💔
And there you have it, folks. The saga of BUSH continues. Will they ever evolve? Probably not. Will anyone actually care about this album? Maybe a few die-hard fans. But hey, at least they’re still trying, right? Right? 😬
