OMG, ComicBook.com did an EXCLUSIVE interview with Sean Byrne and Hassie Harrison about their cinematic masterpiece, Dangerous Animals! 🙄 Apparently, it’s a groundbreaking blend of serial killer thriller and shark attack flick. Because, you know, NO ONE has EVER thought of that before. 🤦♂️
Byrne, who’s famous for his “distinctive voice” (read: making movies some people kinda liked), and Harrison, who plays the damsel-who’s-totally-not-in-distress-because-she’s-so-strong, graced us with their profound insights. They claim it’s a unique entry in the shark and serial killer genres. I’m sure it’ll be as revolutionary as sliced bread… or maybe just as forgettable as last week’s tuna sandwich. 🥪
Byrne gushed, “The script was SO unique! Shark film + serial killer film = GENIUS! 🤯 Why didn’t I think of that? And the shark isn’t the bad guy! We’re correcting the falsehood that sharks are indiscriminate killers!” Yeah, because sharks are known for their nuanced moral compass. 😇 He even had the audacity to say it’s the first original shark film since Jaws. Jaws, people! This guy’s got jokes! 😂
Harrison chimed in about her “instant chemistry” with Jai Courtney. “We had so much fun playing cat and mouse!” she exclaimed. I bet. Nothing says “fun” like being abducted by a serial killer who wants to feed you to sharks. 🕳️ That “natural rapport” (probably forced and awkward) was crucial for their “intense psychological and physical battle.” Sounds like a blast! 🎉
Speaking of Courtney, Byrne couldn’t stop praising him. “He’s so fun as Captain Boomerang!” Byrne declared. “But I also saw him in some obscure Australian indie films, so I knew he had range!” 🎭 Because being good in a superhero movie totally translates to playing a believable serial killer. 🤡
Harrison added, “Jai brings levity and comedic relief to the role! You’ll be laughing WITH him as he tortures me!” 🤣 A serial killer movie that’s “fun and rewatchable”? Sign me up… not! 🙅♀️ I’d rather watch paint dry. 🎨
Dangerous Animals is gracing theaters on June 6th. Will I be watching it? Only if someone pays me… a LOT. 💰 In the meantime, I’ll stick to watching REAL cinema. Like cat videos on YouTube. 🐱
