‘Incredibles 3’ Director Found—Prepare for Disappointment

'Incredibles 3' Director Found—Prepare for Disappointment

Oh, honey, hold onto your capes because Pixar is about to unleash Incredibles 3, and it’s gonna be… something. 🍿 Get ready for a cinematic experience so mind-blowing, it might just make you question all your life choices. Or not. Who cares?

Peter Sohn (of Elemental “fame” and The Good Dinosaur “infamy”) is stepping up to direct. Yes, the guy who brought you lukewarm fire and forgettable dinos is now in charge of your beloved superheroes. Prepare for existential dread, folks. 💀

Brad Bird, the genius behind the first two films (which raked in a measly $1.8 billion 💸), is “writing” the screenplay. But don’t get too excited; he’s probably just phoning it in while counting his money. He will also produce alongside Dana Murray (Oscar-winning Soul), because apparently, Pixar thinks one good movie justifies a lifetime of questionable decisions. 🤔

The Parr family – Bob, Helen, and their delightful offspring – are back to bore you with their suburban escapades. 🏡 Samuel L. Jackson and Sarah Vowell will also grace us with their presence. Because who doesn’t need more Frozone and Violet in their lives? ❄️🙄

The original Incredibles won an Oscar back in 2004, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and good taste was still a thing. Incredibles 2 dropped 14 years later, proving that nostalgia is a powerful drug, earning $1.24 billion globally. 🤑 Disney announced this cinematic masterpiece at the D23 Expo in August 2024, teasing that Bird was “developing” the project. Translation: He cashed a check and then went back to sleep. 😴

Apparently, Bird’s too busy with Skydance’s Ray Gunn to actually direct Incredibles 3. Translation: he doesn’t want to be associated with another Peter Sohn disaster. 🏃💨 Sohn and Bird have a long history of collaboration. Sohn has worked on every animated Bird film up until this year’s Ray Gunn. Bird has been a mentor to Sohn, and Sohn was specifically chosen to carry The Incredibles torch by Bird and Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter. Sohn is a Pixar veteran, having also voiced characters in various movies for the studio, like RatatouilleMonsters University and LightyearElemental, Sohn’s second movie that he directed at Pixar, was nominated for the best animation feature Oscar last year. 🤡

Pixar is also releasing Elio on June 20. Prepare for more mediocrity! 🎉 Directed by Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi, because apparently, Pixar is just throwing darts at a board to decide who gets to ruin your childhood next.🎯
