CNN reports that the annual G7 summit in Canada will be overshadowed by trade tensions, just days after Israel’s strike on Iran. Oh, the horror! Can’t these globalist elites focus on what REALLY matters: stopping the Mullahs from getting nukes and plotting our demise? But no, they’re too busy whining about Trump’s tariffs. It’s always “America First” is bad, until their economies start tanking.
Apparently, Trump’s deadline of July 9th looms large, threatening higher tariffs for countries that don’t play ball. Good! Maybe these countries will finally understand that America isn’t their personal piggy bank. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is right – only those negotiating in “good faith” deserve a break. The rest can pound sand.
The usual suspects are already crying foul. The UK’s economy supposedly shrank because of Trump’s tariffs. Oh, boo-hoo! Maybe they should have thought about that before cozying up to the EU and their socialist policies. And the World Bank, that bastion of leftist propaganda, predicts the “weakest decade of global economic growth” because of Trump. I bet they conveniently ignore the trillions of dollars China has stolen from us over the years.
Japan is eager to negotiate, but the EU? They’re being the biggest wild card, of course. Trump wants them to ditch their VAT taxes, which unfairly hurt American exports, but they’re resisting. Typical! They’d rather stick to their socialist nonsense than give America a fair shake. And Macron, Merz, and Meloni? They’ll probably just whine about climate change and other leftist talking points.
It’s time for these world leaders to understand that the Trump train is here to stay. If they want to avoid higher tariffs, they better start negotiating in good faith and put America first for once.
