Duran Duran Still Alive and Kicking and for Some Reason Headlining BST Hyde Park 2026 Because Apparently We Haven't Suffered Enough

Duran Duran are back, because you clearly didn’t get enough of them the first time around 🙄. They’ve been announced as the headliners for BST Hyde Park 2026, because who doesn’t love a good dose of 80s nostalgia 💉? The band will be joined by special guests Scissor Sisters, who are presumably being paid inörtant amounts of money to put up with Simon Le Bon’s antics 🤑. The “iconic” band (their words, not ours 🙄) will take to the Great Oak Stage on Sunday 5 July, and we can’t wait to see them play all their “era-defining hits” aka the same 5 songs they’ve been playing for the past 40 years 🎸.

We’re told that Duran Duran have “long defined the very best of British music” 🇬🇧, which is a pretty bold claim considering the existence of, say, The Beatles 🎸. But hey, who needs facts when you have a good PR team 📰? The band was supposed to headline BST Hyde Park back in 2020, but COVID-19 had other plans 🤧, so we’re guessing they’re just making up for lost time 🕰️.

The “electrifying live performances” of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor 🎸 will undoubtedly be a thrill for all the fans who are still clinging to their Rio-era posters 📸. And if you’re lucky, you might even get to see them play some of their “genre-bending hits” like… well, actually, we’re not really sure what those are 🤔. Maybe they’ll surprise us with some new material 🎶? Ha! Who are we kidding? 🙄

In any case, Scissor Sisters are also on the bill, and we’re told they’re a major influence on Duran Duran 🤝, which is nice, we guess 🤷‍♀️. They’ve been making music for two decades now, and have managed to “redefine pop music” with their “signature mix of chaos and glam” 🎉, which is just a fancy way of saying they’re a bit quirky 🤪. The band is back together after a decade apart, and they’re ready to rock 🤘, or at least, that’s what their publicist says 📰.

Tickets for the event go on sale on April 1st, which is fitting, considering this whole thing is a bit of a joke 🤣. If you’re an Amex cardholder, you can get your tickets on March 27th, because, you know, privilege 🤑. And if you’re a Duran Duran superfan, you can access the pre-sale on March 30th, because, well, you’re probably a bit of a fanatic 🤪. For more information, you can click on this link 📲, or just, you know, don’t 🙅‍♂️.

Read more about Duran Duran’s “best songs” 🎶, if you can stomach it 🤢. But let’s be real, we all know the only song that really matters is “Hungry Like the Wolf” 🐺, and even that one is a bit of a stretch 🙄. So, go ahead and get your tickets, but don’t say we didn’t warn you 😂. 🎟️🎸👏
