TAYLOR MOMSEN On Upcoming THE PRETTY RECKLESS LP ‘Dear God’: ‘I’m So Proud Of This Album, It’s Not Like I’ve Ever Said That Before’

The Pretty Reckless is back with another album that probably cost more than your college tuition. Taylor Momsen, the band’s eternal goth princess, has finally unleashed “Dear God” upon the world like a bat out of hell wearing too much eyeliner. The album drops June 26 via Fearless Records, which is apparently still a thing.

In an interview with Walt from Rock 95.5, Taylor described the bizarre feeling of having an album that technically exists but isn’t quite “out there” yet. It’s like Schrödinger’s cat, but instead of a cat, it’s a collection of songs about demons, darkness, and whatever else angsty teenagers scream into pillows about.

The first single, “When I Wake Up”, dropped on March 13th, which coincidentally is also the day I blacked out and forgot where I parked my car. Taylor says the song is about waking up and having no idea what happened the night before, which is either a deep metaphor or just a Tuesday for her. She claims it’s “a lot of fun” on a “grander, deeper scale,” which is rock star speak for “I may have made some questionable life choices, but look at my platinum records!”

The album also features “For I Am Death”, which somehow hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart. This marks their fourth consecutive No. 1 hit, proving that either their fans are very loyal or radio programmers have a collective death wish.

Taylor describes “When I Wake Up” as “the story of a dream becoming a nightmare” when excess leads you on a rollercoaster doomed to crash. Sounds like my last relationship, but with better guitar riffs.

The band is launching a world tour called, creatively, the “Dear God” tour. They’ll be hitting cities like New Orleans, Dallas, and Los Angeles before taking their black-clad act to Europe. This follows their incredible two-year trek with AC/DC, where they probably learned valuable lessons like “how to drink more” and “how to make your amps louder than sense.”

Tickets go on sale to the public on March 20th, but you can get them earlier if you’re willing to pay for a VIP package that includes things like early entry, signed posters, and exclusive merchandise. The Ultimate VIP Package even includes a signed Fender Squier guitar and a signed setlist, perfect for that special someone who has everything except musical talent.

The track listing reads like a goth kid’s poetry slam: “Life Evermore Pt. 2”, “Dragonfire”, “Spell On You”, “Devil In Disguise (Michelle’s Song)”, and my personal favorite, “Rollercoaster Of Life”. Because nothing says “I’m deep” like comparing life to an amusement park ride.

In the past year, The Pretty Reckless performed at the 2026 MusiCares Person Of The Year Gala (yes, 2026, apparently we’re time traveling now) where Taylor honored Mariah Carey alongside the Foo Fighters. They also performed at the 2025 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with Soundgarden. The math doesn’t add up, but rock stars don’t need math, they need amplifiers.

They also released a Christmas EP called “Taylor Momsen’s Pretty Reckless Christmas”, featuring a revamped version of “Where Are You Christmas?” that hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like a goth anthem about existential despair.

So mark your calendars for June 26th, when “Dear God” finally arrives to remind us all that life is pain, darkness is comforting, and Taylor Momsen still hasn’t changed her hair color since 2010. 🎸💀🖤
