OH NO, PARADISE LOST IS STILL TOGETHER AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!! 🤯 I guess that’s what happens when you have a similar sense of humor and don’t take yourselves too seriously 🤣. In a shocking turn of events, guitarist Gregor Mackintosh revealed in an interview with Metal.de that the key to their nearly four-decade-long lineup is having a similar sense of humor and acceptance. Wow, what a revolutionary concept 🙄. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be in a band with a bunch of guys who can laugh at the same jokes and not be total divas 🤷‍♂️?

So, it turns out that Paradise Lost has been able to keep their original lineup intact for almost 40 years because they’re all just a bunch of jokesters who don’t take themselves seriously. I mean, it’s not like they’ve had any majorcreative differences or personal struggles that could have torn the band apart 🤔. Nope, it’s all just about having a good sense of humor and being able to laugh at the same things. Easy peasy 🎉.

The Secret to Their Success

According to Gregor, “You have to have a similar sense of humor. You don’t have to have a good sense of humor, just a similar sense of humor, so that you can kind of laugh at the same things.” Yeah, because nothing says “good band chemistry” like a bunch of guys who can all laugh at the same dad jokes 🤣. He also mentioned that acceptance is key, which is just code for “we’ve learned to tolerate each other’s crap over the years” 🙄.

But seriously, it’s impressive that Paradise Lost has been able to maintain their lineup for so long. I mean, it’s not like they’ve had any major lineup changes or anything… oh wait, they have 🤦‍♂️. But hey, at least they’ve been able to keep the core members together, and that’s what counts, right? 🤷‍♂️

A Second Family

Gregor also referred to Paradise Lost as a “second family” for him, which is sweet, I guess. I mean, it’s not like they’re all just a bunch of dysfunctional relatives who are stuck together because they can’t afford to quit the band 🙅‍♂️. Nope, they’re just one big happy family… with a similar sense of humor, of course 🤣.

Paradise Lost is currently touring in support of their 17th album, “Ascension”, which came out last September via Nuclear Blast Records. Because, you know, the world was just missing another Paradise Lost album 🙄. But hey, at least they’re still cranking out the tunes, and their fans are still eating them up like the good little goth metal sheep they are 🐑.

In all seriousness, though, Paradise Lost is a legendary band with a storied history, and it’s impressive that they’ve been able to maintain their relevance in the metal scene for so long. So, if you’re a fan of gothic metal and haven’t checked them out yet, what’s wrong with you? 🤷‍♂️ Go listen to some of their classic albums like “Gothic” or “Draconian Times” and get educated, grandpa 🎸.

And to Paradise Lost, I say: keep on trucking, guys. Keep making music, touring, and laughing at the same jokes for years to come. The metal world needs more bands like you, even if you are a bunch of old dudes who refuse to hang up their black eyeliner and fishnets 🤣. Cheers to many more years of gothic metal greatness 🥳! 🍺
