Oh no, the music industry is doomed… or not. Taylor Momsen, the fearless frontwoman of THE PRETTY RECKLESS, has spoken out against the evil clutches of artificial intelligence (A.I.) in music creation. In a recent interview with Lipps Service With Scott Lipps, Momsen was asked if she’d ever consider using A.I. as a tool for writing music, and her response was a resounding “Fuck no. Fuck no.” Because, you know, A.I. is the devil incarnate, and we should all be terrified of its Terminator-esque takeover of the world 🤖.
So, what’s the big deal about A.I. in music, you ask? Well, apparently, everyone’s freaking out about how it’s going to take over the music industry and write all the songs for us. But Momsen is all, “Uh, no thanks.” She writes songs because she needs to express herself and get things off her chest, not because she wants some computer program to do it for her. I mean, can you imagine? “Hey, A.I., write me a hit single about my feelings.” Yeah, no thanks. That’s just not how art works, folks.
The Pretty Reckless: Still Rocking Without A.I.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS recently unveiled the official music video for “About You (Bonus Version)”, which features additional instrumentation and backing vocals from FOO FIGHTERS’ Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. Because, you know, when you’re a rockstar, you can just call up your buddies and be like, “Hey, want to collaborate on a song?” And they’re all, “Sure thing, Taylor.” The song was originally featured on their fifth studio album, “Dear God”, which was released in June and has been making waves in the rock music scene.
But back to the A.I. thing. Momsen just doesn’t get the point of using it in music creation. “What is the point of that? What is the point of that?” she asks. And honestly, it’s a fair question. I mean, what’s the fun in having a computer write your songs for you? Where’s the creativity? The passion? The emotional depth? It’s just not the same, folks. And let’s be real, if A.I. starts writing all the songs, we’ll just end up with a bunch of formulaic, soulless music that sounds like it was written by a robot. No thanks.
Taylor Momsen: The Anti-A.I. Rockstar
THE PRETTY RECKLESS is currently preparing to hit the road again for the European leg of their “Dear God” tour, because rockstars don’t take breaks, folks. They just keep on touring and making music and stuff. And Momsen has been keeping busy, performing with SOUNDGARDEN at the Seattle Seahawks’ season opener and joining a bunch of other rockstars for a SOUNDGARDEN tribute at the Power To The People festival. Because, you know, when you’re a rockstar, you’ve got to stay relevant and keep the music alive. And A.I. just can’t replicate that kind of passion and energy. So, let’s all just breathe a collective sigh of relief that Taylor Momsen is out there, making music the old-fashioned way – with heart, soul, and a whole lot of attitude 🤘.
