Marty McFly’s Back: Old Man Scorsese Gets a Docu-Makeover

Martin Scorsese

OMG! 😱 Apple TV+ just dropped a trailer for “Mr. Scorsese,” a five-part docuseries by Rebecca Miller. Five parts?! Is Scorsese REALLY that interesting? 🤔 Premiering globally on October 17, 2025, so mark your calendars, I guess. 🙄

The official blurb says it’s an “intimate and richly layered examination” of Marty. 🙄🙄🙄 Intimate? Like we’re gonna see him floss his teeth? 🦷 It’s got “never-before-seen footage” (probably just him ordering pizza 🍕) and “in-depth interviews” (everyone sucking up to him, no doubt). Apparently, Marty’s gonna explore “his perspective on human nature and the eternal struggle between good and evil.” 🙄 Dude, it’s just movies. Relax. 🧘

Oh, look, a YouTube embed! 🖥️ *Yawn*. Probably just clips of “Goodfellas” for the millionth time. 😴

The series is a “cinematic portrait of a man through the lens of his work.” 🎬 Deep, man. 🙄 They had “exclusive, unrestricted access” to Scorsese’s “private archives.” Bet it’s just boxes of old scripts and half-eaten cannolis. 🤣 The doc is packed with interviews: De Niro (who’s contractually obligated to be there), Daniel Day-Lewis (coming out of retirement…again?), Leo (his boy toy), Mick Jagger (random!), Thelma Schoonmaker (finally giving credit to the editor!), Spielberg (jealous?), Sharon Stone (how did she get in there?), Jodie Foster, Paul Schrader, Margot Robbie, Cate Blanchett, Jay Cocks, Rodrigo Prieto, his kids, his wife Helen Morris, and his “close childhood friends.” Basically, anyone who’s anyone… or owes Scorsese a favor. 🤝

Rebecca Miller is directing. Remember “She Came to Me”? No? Exactly. 🤷 The doc examines how Scorsese’s life “informed his artistic vision.” So, being a Catholic kid from Little Italy made “Goodfellas”? Groundbreaking. 🤯 The series explores the “themes that have fascinated Scorsese,” like “the place of good and evil.” 😇😈 Dude, it’s just mob movies!

Miller and Damon Cardasis at Round Films are executive producing. Who? 🤔 Cindy Tolan is also an EP. Apparently, she’s Miller’s “longtime creative collaborator.” So, nepotism? Cardasis, Tolan, and Miller are also EPs of “Arthur Miller: Writer.” So they just do movies about famous people? 🙄 Rick Yorn, Christopher Donnelly, and Julie Yorn are also involved, plus Ron Burkle, Robert Fernandez, and Patrick Walmsley. Too many cooks in the kitchen, much? 🧑‍🍳

“Mr. Scorsese” joins Apple’s “award-winning slate of documentaries.” They mention “STILL: A Michael J. Fox Movie” (okay, that was good, I admit it), “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me” (for the teenyboppers), “STEVE! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces” (because one wasn’t enough?), and an “untitled Fleetwood Mac documentary.” So, basically, a bunch of random celebrity docs. 🤷‍♀️

In conclusion: “Mr. Scorsese” will either be a revelatory masterpiece that redefines the documentary genre… or a self-indulgent ego stroke. Place your bets! 💰
