MAGA’s SAVE America Act: So Important They’re Screaming It From the Rooftops… Poll Says No One’s Listening

Just 28% Support “SAVE America Act” Despite GOP Hype

The Republican Party’s emergency over the “SAVE America Act” might be more of an internal meltdown than a national crisis, according to new polling data that should make Senate Majority Leader John Thune sleep easier at night.

While MAGA influencers have been hyperventilating about this legislation as if it’s the political equivalent of D-Day, a CBS News-YouGov poll reveals that most Americans couldn’t care less. Only 28% support the actual bill, while 31% oppose it. Even among Republicans, a measly 60% offer support, with another 6% actively opposing it and 34% apparently too busy watching Fox News to form an opinion.

Here’s the kicker: despite all the breathless coverage in conservative media and endless social media hysteria, only 16% of Republicans claim to know anything substantial about the legislation. Half of GOP voters admit they don’t know any specifics. Apparently, the “emergency” is so urgent that nobody bothered to explain what’s actually in the bill.

The polling reveals something else that should terrify MAGA world: Americans actually see preventing eligible citizens from voting as equally problematic (44%) as the supposed threat of noncitizen voting (42%). That’s right – your average voter is sophisticated enough to recognize that making it harder to register might affect actual citizens too.

Even more damning for Republicans pushing this legislation: 51% of GOP voters acknowledge that noncitizen voting only happens “sometimes” or less frequently. Among all Americans, a paltry 23% believe it happens “a lot.”

So why is Trump pressuring Thune to scrap the filibuster over this snoozer of an issue? Probably because he’s more interested in owning the libs than actually governing. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans seem to have figured out what the polls confirm – this fever is mostly contained to the same people who think January 6th was a tourist visit.

The data suggests Republicans might want to find a new boogeyman. This one’s not scaring enough people to justify burning down Senate traditions.
