According to Acton’s spokesperson, Addie Bullock, the individual lunged at Dr. Acton, and law enforcement had to step in to prevent further chaos.

Mahoning County Sheriff Jerry Greene told CNN affiliate WFMJ that the individual is expected to face charges of assault and disorderly conduct. I’m no lawyer, but that sounds like a pretty serious situation. The sheriff also mentioned that law enforcement found two firearms on the individual, which is just plain scary.
Now, I’m not one to jump to conclusions, but it seems like this individual was looking for trouble. According to party chair Chris Anderson, the person was arrested after knocking multiple volunteers to the ground as Acton visited the Mahoning County Democratic Party’s tent. Anderson called the incident “reprehensible” and said it should be condemned by leaders on all sides of the aisle. I couldn’t agree more, bless their hearts.
The Acton campaign has released a statement, and they’re grateful for the swift action of law enforcement. They’re also praying for the recovery of those injured, which is very kind of them. The Ramaswamy campaign, on the other hand, has denounced the incident, saying that candidates should be able to meet with voters without worrying about threats or violence. I mean, who wouldn’t agree with that? It’s just common sense.
