Oh, NOOOO! 😭 Just when you thought you could finally escape your miserable existence by parkouring away from zombies in Dying Light: The Beast, Techland drops a bombshell! They’re delaying the game! Yes, you heard it right! Prepare to wallow in your pre-apocalyptic boredom for another four weeks! 🗓️
Although Techland understands 🙄 that your excitement is just *oozing* regarding their upcoming release, Dying Light: The Beast, they’ve made the “difficult” decision to delay The Beast by four weeks, moving the next title’s release out of the “hotter” Summer months and into September. Because, you know, playing a zombie game in the summer just makes TOO much sense. 🔥 The developer decided to delay The Beast to “allow for extra polishing,” and it will now be hitting shelves on September 19, instead of the original August 21 release date. 📅
Techland posted an update to its blog, explaining its reasoning behind the delay. The blog post reads, “It has always been our goal to make Dying Light: The Beast the best Dying Light game we’ve ever released. To honour this promise, we’ve made the decision to move the release date to September 19, 2025, to allow for extra polishing work.” 🧽 Yeah, because that’s TOTALLY what every game needs – more polishing! I’m sure the zombies will be much more terrifying with their freshly polished teeth!🦷 Techland says its decision was also influenced by the positive feedback the team received from The Beast previews, further cementing the idea they had to give the title extra polish. Because if people like it, obviously it needs more work. Makes perfect sense! 🤪
CGMagazine’s latest preview of Dying Light: The Beast said, “I had an absolute blast playing Dying Light: The Beast, and I literally can’t stop thinking about returning to Castor Woods on Aug. 22 to continue the story in earnest,” regarding the solo campaign featuring original protagonist, Kyle Crane. So, one person liked it. ONE! ☝️ That’s all the justification Techland needs to make everyone else wait an extra month. Thanks, CGMagazine, you just HAD to ruin it for everyone! 🤦♀️ Although fans will now have to wait a few more weeks to dive into The Beast, Techland assures fans that the wait will be worth it. Oh, I’m sure it will be. Totally worth the extra month of agonizing anticipation. NOT! 😒 On top of delay news, Techland has also announced The Beast will be playable in demo form at gamescom 2025. So, if you happen to be in Germany, you can experience the “polished” version of the game while the rest of us are stuck twiddling our thumbs! Lucky you! 🖕
While it is unclear whether the ‘more polished’ version of The Beast will be playable at gamescom or not, Techland promises updates made to the title during the four-week delay —such as UI enhancements— will make the next chapter in Kyle Crane’s story a smoother ride. UI enhancements? REALLY? 🖥️ That’s what we’re waiting for? Because navigating menus is SOOO much more important than, you know, KILLING ZOMBIES! 🧟 So, until September 19 arrives, fans (and attendees of gamescom 2025) will have the opportunity to get their hands on the next Dying Light adventure before the new release date, but for the rest of us, it’s September 19. Mark your calendars, folks! 🗓️ Get ready to be underwhelmed! 🥳
