OMG π±, Apple TV+ just dropped a trailer for Down Cemetery Road, starring the one and only Emma Thompson (who apparently needs ALL the awards mentioned π) and Ruth Wilson. Because, you know, we NEED another thriller. It’s not like there are enough of those already π. Get ready for EIGHT whole episodes of this masterpiece, starting October 29th. Mark your calendars, people, because your life will never be the sameβ¦ or maybe it will, who knows? π€·ββοΈ
So, basically, some house goes kaboom π₯ in Oxford, and a girl vanishes into thin air. Wilson’s character, being the nosy neighbor she is, decides to play detective with Thompson’s private investigator character. Prepare for a “complex conspiracy” where the dead aren’t really dead, and the living are, like, super eager to join them. Sounds riveting, doesn’t it? π I can already feel the edge of my seatβ¦ slowly sliding off because I’m probably gonna fall asleep π΄.
[embedded content] <– Yep, that’s a YouTube embed alright. I’m sure it’s full of spoilers and jump scares, but who has time to watch trailers these days? Just tell me if Emma Thompson cries at any point. That’s the only scene that matters anyway.π
Oh, look, more famous people! π We’ve got Adeel Akhtar, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and a whole bunch of other names you’ll probably recognize from that one thing you saw that one time. They’re all in this, so you KNOW it’s gonna be good. Or at least, mildly entertaining while you scroll through your phone.π±
This cinematic triumph is brought to you by 60Forty Films and written by Morwenna Banks (who also did “Slow Horses,” so, you know, expectations areβ¦tempered). And get this, even Mick Herron, the author of the book π, is an executive producer! Talk about milking it for all it’s worth. π€ Natalie Bailey directed it because why not? Everyone’s directing something these days.
