Oh boy, are you guys ready for some serious rockstar nostalgia? 🤯 Because HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES just kicked off their first tour in over three years, and I’m not sure if I’m excited or just old. 😂 The supergroup, consisting of Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Johnny Depp (yes, that Johnny Depp), along with producer and songwriter Tommy Henriksen, took the stage at The O2 Arena in London, UK on August 12. I mean, who needs a time machine when you have HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES, right? ⏰
So, what’s the big deal about this tour? Well, for starters, the setlist is a whopping 23 songs long, featuring a mix of their own tracks, as well as covers of classic hits like THE WHO’s “Baba O’Riley”, AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell”, and THE VELVET UNDERGROUND’s “Venus In Furs”. Because, you know, when you’re a rockstar, you can just play whatever you want and people will still love it. 🤷♂️ I mean, who needs originality when you can just play “School’s Out” and “Livin’ On The Edge” and call it a day? 😴

But seriously, HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES is a big deal. I mean, it’s not every day you see a group of rock legends come together to play music and have a good time. And let’s be real, it’s not like they’re doing it for the money or anything… 🤑 Although, I’m pretty sure they’re not doing it for the groupies either, because, well, they’re all old enough to be your dad. 😂 Anyway, the group’s chemistry is undeniable, and it’s clear that they’re having the time of their lives. As Cooper told Billboard six years ago, “That’s a very odd thing about this. You’ve got three alpha males who are used to running the show, and all of a sudden, three guys are sitting there with zero arguments.” Yeah, because that’s exactly what I want to see – a bunch of old rockstars getting along and having a good time. 🙄
But wait, it gets better. The band was joined on stage by none other than THE ROLLING STONES’ Ronnie Wood, because why not? 🤷♂️ I mean, it’s not like they’re trying to appeal to every single rock fan out there or anything. 🤑 Cooper introduced Wood as the “most deadly British vampire”, which, let’s be real, is just a nice way of saying “old guy with a guitar”. 😂 They played a few songs together, including THE STONES’ “Brown Sugar” and the blues standard “Train Kept A-Rollin'”, which AEROSMITH covered back in 1974. Because, you know, rock music is all about recycling old songs and calling it new. 📆
