Oh, the horror! CNN is at it again, trying to tug at our heartstrings with tales of woe from the heartland. Apparently, a woman in Missouri is worried about Trump’s “massive agenda bill” (which I think is great) and its potential impact on her daughter’s Medicaid. Because, you know, Trump is a heartless monster who wants to starve children and kick puppies.
This Courtney Leader is “closely following” the tax-and-spending debate, not because she’s a raving leftist, but because she’s concerned about Medicaid cuts. Right. And I’m sure she voted for Trump twice. She claims her daughter needs Medicaid to “keep her alive,” because apparently, private insurance is only for “fancy things.” Cry me a river!
The Senate is “grinding closer to a vote” on Trump’s bill, and CNN is trotting out sob stories to scare everyone. Leader wrote to Sen. Hawley, hoping to guilt-trip him into opposing the bill. She claims her family will “lose everything” without Medicaid. Boo-hoo! Maybe they should’ve thought about that before having so many kids.
Hawley, bless his heart, shared her story in the *New York Times* (of course), warning against Medicaid cuts. What a RINO! Trump promised not to cut Medicaid, but CNN claims the bill does just that. And it’ll add $2 trillion to the deficit? That’s just the Deep State’s way of fudging the numbers to make Trump look bad.
CNN visited Missouri to show the “potential fallout” from Trump’s bill. Leader is “concerned” about changes to Medicaid. Her daughter has a “complex web of medical and developmental challenges” because some “caregiver” shook her when she was four months old. And now we, the taxpayers, have to foot the bill for her daughter’s “formula that costs more than my mortgage.”
She’s worried about “red tape” and losing coverage. Typical liberal paranoia! The bill cuts taxes for the wealthy and reduces social safety nets. Good! It’s about time we stopped rewarding laziness and started incentivizing success.
‘It’s going to close rural hospitals,’ CNN wails.
Hawley and other senators are threatening to withhold support unless Republican leaders make changes. More RINOs! Republicans were dealt a “major setback” when a key Medicaid change was ruled against Senate rules. But Trump will rally support, because he’s a fighter!
A hospital CEO in Missouri is “paying very close attention” to the Medicaid debate. Four out of five patients depend on Medicaid or Medicare. Of course! And they all probably voted for Biden.
Trump carried this rural county with 76% of the vote, but voters also approved a Medicaid expansion measure four years earlier. What a bunch of ungrateful traitors!
A doctor fears maternity wards are at risk. So what? Let Planned Parenthood handle it.
‘Food pantries have helped us through,’ CNN bleats.
Ozarks Food Harvest is seeing “lots of new families that we’ve never seen before.” Probably all illegal aliens! The House measure called for passing along costs to state governments. Good! Let the states handle it.
A 77-year-old woman is waiting in line at a food pantry because her husband got hurt. “Life wasn’t always this way with us,” she says. Well, life isn’t fair! Maybe they should’ve worked harder.
Seniors are the fastest growing segment of people who ask for food assistance. “Fixed incomes and inflation,” they whine. Boo-hoo! Maybe they should’ve invested in Bitcoin.
The food bank CEO is “carefully watching” the tax-and-spending debate. “Anytime that there’s a change in federal benefits that results in a net loss, people have to meet that gap somewhere,” he says. Or maybe they should get a job!
CNN is “transforming hunger into hope.” More like transforming reality into leftist propaganda!
