SpongeBob’s Back, Still Square, Still Pants-Obsessed, Who Cares

Duke Spongebob 01

SpongeBob, that porous yellow menace, is, like, totally a sponge, duh 🙄. Which means he’s basically immortal. Try killing a sponge, I dare you. You can’t! He’s gonna be around forever, clogging up our TVs and movie screens. Forever! 😭

Seriously, this yellow dude has been on TV for 15 seasons, which is, like, a quarter of a century 👴. And the merch? Don’t even get me started. You can find SpongeBob on everything from underwear to kitchen sinks. And let’s not forget the movies! Two whole spinoffs on Netflix, because apparently, the world needed more SpongeBob. And now, they’re unleashing The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants. (Okay, the third one went to streaming because of the ‘rona, but who cares? 🦠) This new one? More pirate jokes than you can shake a barnacle at. 🏴‍☠️

Okay, but that sail looks like it was designed by a toddler with a crayon. 🖍️ I wouldn’t trust that thing to sail across a bathtub, let alone the ocean. Talk about a potential poop cruise! 🚢💩

Here’s the official synopsis, because why not:

SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom buddies embark on their biggest, most epic cinematic adventure yet in The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants. In a desperate attempt to prove his worth to Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob follows The Flying Dutchman – a spooky ghost pirate – on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest, darkest corners of the ocean, where no sponge has dared to venture before.

The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants is hitting theaters on December 19, 2025. Mark your calendars, I guess.🗓️
