Folks, I almost spilled my coffee reading this one. Michigan state senator Mallory McMorrow is making some interesting statements about the war with Iran. According to her, ‘We cannot afford for somebody who is going to be loyal to Donald Trump to get into this seat.’ Now, I’m not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that she’s bringing up Trump’s name or that she thinks she can handle the complexities of international relations.
I mean, bless their hearts, trying to make a Senate primary about loyalty to a particular person rather than actual policy. It’s like they think voters are more concerned with who you’re friends with rather than what you’re going to do for the country. And what’s with the Iran war talk? It’s like they’re trying to make it sound like a local issue or something. Somewhere in Atlanta, a producer thought this sounded terrifying, and now we’ve got a Senate candidate trying to make a name for herself by talking about it.
Now, I’m not saying McMorrow doesn’t have her points. She does explain her take on handling the war with Iran from a potential Senate angle, and I suppose it’s good that she’s thinking about these things. But let’s be real, this is all just politics as usual. They’re all trying to spin this to their advantage, and we’re the ones who have to sit here and watch it. You can’t make this stuff up, folks.
McMorrow is running in the state’s Democratic US Senate primary, and I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. The video from CNN is only 1 minute and 54 seconds long, so it’s not like it’s a huge time commitment or anything. But honestly, I’d rather watch paint dry than listen to more of this same old political rhetoric.
In the end, it’s all just a big show, and we’re the audience. They’re all trying to convince us of something, but at the end of the day, it’s just a bunch of empty promises and hollow words. So, let’s just sit back, grab another cup of coffee, and enjoy the circus that is politics. And who knows, maybe someday we’ll get a candidate who actually knows what they’re talking about. But until then, we’re stuck with this stuff.
