Oh boy, are you ready for some epic news? 🤘 A gigantic statue of the one and only Ozzy Osbourne was just unveiled at Hellfest, and it’s a real headbanger 🤯! The festival, which is taking place from June 18 to June 21, is one of the biggest metal festivals in all of Europe, and it’s only fitting that they’d honor the Prince of Darkness with a massive six-meter-tall statue 🤘. The statue was created by French contemporary artist Philippe Pasqua, who’s known for his amazing paintings, sculptures, and drawings 🎨. We can’t wait to see the looks on the festival-goers’ faces when they see this massive Ozzy statue 🤣!
On Wednesday, June 17, Ozzy’s widow and manager Sharon Osbourne shared a video of the statue on social media, and we have to say, it’s pretty stunning 🤩. The statue is located near the Hellfest entrance, and Sharon wrote a heartfelt caption: “I’m sorry I couldn’t be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy’s statue. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week 🤒. A big thank you to Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud, and everyone at Hellfest 🙏. Special thank you to @philippe_pasqua_officiel for the absolutely stunning statue!” 🙌
But this isn’t the first time Hellfest has paid tribute to a metal legend 🤘. Back in June 2022, a statue of the iconic MÖTÖRHEAD leader Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister was unveiled at the festival 🤟. The new Lemmy statue replaced the previous one, which was reportedly falling apart due to the fact that the plaster was crumbling 🤦♂️. The upgraded Lemmy statue was created by emerging French sculptor Caroline Brisset, who’s known for her amazing steel works that marry the concrete and the abstract to achieve a dreamlike effect 🌟.
Ozzy’s death certificate revealed that he died on July 22, 2025, of a heart attack 💔. The certificate also stated that he suffered from coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease 🤕. A private funeral service was held on July 31, 2025, on the 250-acre grounds of the house Ozzy and his wife bought in 1993 in Buckinghamshire, England 🏠. Only 110 of Ozzy’s closest friends and family members attended the service, including his BLACK SABBATH bandmates, Robert Trujillo (METALLICA), Rob Zombie, Zakk Wylde, Marilyn Manson, and Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT) 🤩.
The day before the private funeral, thousands of fans gathered in the streets of Birmingham to pay tribute to Ozzy 🙏. Sharon, along with their children Aimée, Kelly, and Jack, joined the mourners for an emotional tribute 🌟. Eleven months ago, Ozzy reunited with the rest of the original BLACK SABBATH lineup — guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward — for what was his final performance at the “Back To The Beginning” charity concert in Birmingham, United Kingdom 🎸.
At the “Back To The Beginning” concert, Ozzy played a five-song set with his solo band — consisting of guitarist Zakk Wylde, bassist Mike Inez, keyboardist Adam Wakeman, and drummer Tommy Clufetos — before being joined by Iommi, Butler, and Ward for four classic SABBATH songs: “War Pigs”, “Iron Man”, “N.I.B.”, and “Paranoid” 🤘. Ozzy’s solo set consisted of four songs from his 1980 solo debut album “Blizzard Of Ozz” — “I Don’t Know”, “Mr. Crowley”, “Suicide Solution”, and “Crazy Train” — along with his 1991 “No More Tears” ballad “Mama, I’m Coming Home” 🎶.
The 76-year-old heavy metal singer sang while seated on a black throne and appeared overcome with emotion at times 🙏. “You have no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he told the crowd 🙌. We’re sure that Ozzy’s statue at Hellfest will be a huge hit with fans, and it’s a great way to honor the legacy of the Prince of Darkness 🤘. So, if you’re heading to Hellfest this year, be sure to check out the Ozzy statue and pay your respects to the metal legend 🙏. And don’t forget to rock out to some of Ozzy’s classic songs, like “Bark at the Moon” and “Shot in the Dark” 🎸! 🎶
