Dee Snider’s Career Dead But He’s Fine Physically Somehow

Jay Jay French@2000x1500

I just spilled my beer all over my black metal t-shirt because I’m so shocked… not. TWISTED SISTER has announced that they’re replacing Dee Snider with Sebastian Bach as their new lead singer for their upcoming tour. I mean, it’s not like Dee Snider is the face and voice of the band or anything. Jay Jay French, the band’s guitarist, explained in an interview with Screamin’ Scott Randall of 94.7 WCSX that Dee Snider’s “health challenges” forced him to back out of the tour. Yeah, because rocking out on stage is super hard on the body, who knew?

Apparently, Dee Snider’s health issues are so bad that he can only perform a few songs at a time in pain. I’m no doctor, but maybe he should just stick to singing in the shower or something. The band’s new touring lineup consists of Bach on lead vocals, French and Eddie Ojeda on guitar, Russell Pzütto on bass, and Joey Cassata on drums. Because, you know, the most important thing is that the band keeps touring, even if the lead singer is no longer the original guy.

The Sebastian Bach Era: A New Chapter for TWISTED SISTER?

French said that Sebastian Bach was the “perfect choice” to replace Dee Snider, and that he’s brought a “whole new energy” to the band. Yeah, because nothing says “new energy” like a 50-year-old singer from a different band. I’m sure the fans will just love singing along to “We’re Not Gonna Take It” with some dude who’s not Dee Snider. The band played its first concert with Bach on August 28 at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey, and apparently, it was a blast… for the band, at least.

I mean, who needs Dee Snider when you have Sebastian Bach, right? It’s not like the fans are going to be all like, “Hey, this isn’t the same band I’ve been listening to for decades.” The band will play an additional three shows this fall, including on November 12 at Hard Rock Live Bristol in Bristol, Virginia. So, if you’re in the area and want to see TWISTED SISTER with a different lead singer, be sure to check them out.

The Dee Snider Era: A Look Back

Dee Snider said in a statement that he suffers from degenerative arthritis and can only perform a few songs at a time in pain. Yeah, because that’s not a great way to spend your golden years – in constant pain and popping painkillers like they’re candy. He also said that his intense rocking over the years has “taken its toll on his heart as well.” I’m no doctor, but maybe he should just take it easy and play some acoustic guitar or something.

In a recent interview with “The Jasta Show”, Snider said that he’s not dying anytime soon, but he is dealing with issues that could kill him if he doesn’t deal with them. Yeah, no pressure or anything. He also said that his body’s been causing him problems with growing arthritis and degenerative arthritis throughout his body. I mean, who hasn’t been there, right?

So, there you have it, folks. TWISTED SISTER is back, but not really. They’ve got a new lead singer, and they’re still touring, because why not? It’s not like the fans are going to care that Dee Snider is no longer the lead singer. I mean, who needs the original voice and face of the band when you can have some other dude singing the same songs? 🤷‍♂️
