Is Superman Finally Gonna Grace Us With His Presence in ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2, or Are We Just Being Trolled Again

OMG! You didn’t actually think we wouldn’t notice, did you, Superman? 🙄 David Corenswet, bless his heart, is now single-handedly (or maybe double-handedly, who knows?) fueling the already raging dumpster fire 🔥 of fan rumors that the big blue boy scout himself might just grace us with his presence in Peacemaker Season 2. Can you believe it? 🤣

For weeks, nay, *eons*, the internet has been buzzing like a cheap vibrator 🐝 about the possibility of a Superman cameo in Peacemaker. You know, because everyone was just DYING to see more of that show, especially after the second season dropped on HBO Max back on August 21st. Who even remembers that date? 🤷‍♀️

But hold your horses 🐴, because on Friday morning (September 5th, mark your calendars 🗓️), Corenswet, in his infinite wisdom, decided to share a photo of him and Peacemaker overlord, John Cena, on the set of this groundbreaking 🏆 streaming series. And guess what? They were both dressed as their respective DC characters. Groundbreaking! 🤯

The photo, which is so artistic it should be hanging in the Louvre 🖼️, shows Corenswet in his Superman suit, looking all heroic and stuff. Meanwhile, Cena is posing for the camera in a floral button-up shirt, because that’s totally what Peacemaker would wear after a brutal fight. 🌸 Bloodied, but make it fashion! 💅

The Superman star’s cryptic post, which was uploaded with absolutely zero caption or context (because who needs context these days? 🤪), received an even more cryptic response from the official DC Instagram account. They simply commented with a pair of peeking eye emojis 👀👀. We see you, DC! We see you trying to be all mysterious and cool. 🙄

Now, the masses are scratching their heads and wondering if this means Superman will swoop in like a poorly rendered CGI bird 🐦 for an appearance in an upcoming episode of Peacemaker. The suspense is killing us… not! 😴

Corenswet’s photo has a timestamp of July 23, 2024, which means the picture was taken about a week before Superman wrapped principal photography. So, basically, they could have just been filming their respective stories on the same day at the same studio and decided to take a quick selfie together. But who needs logic when you can have wild speculation? 🤪

However, in August, during the rollout for Peacemaker Season 2 (because we just can’t get enough, can we? 😒), showrunner and DC Studios co-head James Gunn teased some “major twists and turns” to come in the forthcoming final three episodes of the show’s second season. Prepare to be underwhelmed! 🥱

Gunn also recently confirmed that Season 2 “directly” sets up the upcoming and newly announced Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, which is scheduled to grace our screens on July 9, 2027. Yes, you read that right, 2027! So, basically, we have to suffer through more Peacemaker to understand a Superman movie that’s years away. Thanks, James! 🖕

He made the revelation while responding to a fan’s comment under his Instagram post calling Peacemaker Season 2 the “Man of Tomorrow prequel.” Because, apparently, we’re all supposed to be super excited about that. 🎉

Cena’s Peacemaker makes a quick but memorable cameo in 2025’s Superman, which was released on July 11. The violent vigilante briefly appears during a news segment during which he trash-talks the superhero. Because nothing says “good storytelling” like a cameo for the sake of a cameo. 🤡 Within the next few weeks we’ll find out if Corenswet returns the favor. Maybe he’ll trash-talk Peacemaker’s wardrobe. That would be a public service. 👕🔥

New episodes of Peacemaker stream Thursdays at 9PM ET on HBO Max. So, set your alarms, cancel your plans, and prepare to be mildly entertained at best! 🎬
