OMG! 🙄 Anna Faris and Regina Hall, those two actresses who haven’t aged a day since 2000 (totally not sarcasm), are reuniting with the Wayans brothers for ANOTHER Scary Movie! 😱 I mean, who asked for this? Did anyone actually enjoy Scary Movie 5? 🤔 Let’s be real, the franchise peaked when everyone was still rocking flip phones and frosted tips. 💅
The dynamic duo, who played Cindy and Brenda, are apparently reprising their roles. Like, are they contractually obligated to do this? Did they lose a bet? 🤣Seriously, what other explanation is there? They released a joint statement, which I’m sure was written by a publicist who’s been dreaming of retirement since 1998.😴
“We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again),” the actresses shared. Yes, because dying in a parody movie is the peak of comedic achievement.🏆 And let’s not forget, those movies were hilarious… if you were, like, 12.🤷♀️ Faris and Hall graced us with their presence in the first four Scary Movie installments, bless their cotton socks!
Marlon Wayans, bless his heart, broke the news on Instagram. 🤳He posted a photo of Faris and Hall from the first movie with the caption “SM6.” Groundbreaking. 🤯Is he trying to trigger our nostalgia? Because all it’s doing is reminding us how long ago 2000 was. 👴👵
Keenan Ivory Wayans, the mastermind (debatable) behind the first two films, is back to write and direct. Marlon and Shawn Wayans, because two Wayans are never enough, will also be lending their… talents.✍️ Apparently, this is a “restart” to the series. Oh, honey, no. Just let it die.☠️
Miramax tried to reboot Scary Movie without the Wayans, and guess what? It failed. 😹Marlon refused a cameo because the series is “our [the Wayans’] baby.” Okay, but like, a slightly deformed, screaming baby.👶
The first Scary Movie, released in 2000, made a buttload of money.💰💰💰 It spoofed Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Blair Witch Project, and a bunch of other stuff. Because apparently, we needed a comedic take on things that were already kind of ridiculous.🙄
The franchise, in all its questionable glory, raked in almost $900 million. 🤑Scary Movie 5, the last nail in the coffin, came out in 2013. I’m sure it’s someone’s favorite movie, but I’m not sure I want to meet that someone.👤
Shooting for Scary Movie 6 starts in October. Great. Just what we need. More recycled jokes and tired tropes. 😴
Mark your calendars, folks, because Scary Movie 6 is hitting theaters on June 12, 2026. 📅 I’m sure it will be a cinematic masterpiece for the ages. Just kidding! 😂 Get ready for another round of low-brow humor and outdated pop culture references! 🤮
