Black Crowes Milking ‘Amorica’ for All It’s Worth with “Deluxe” Reissue No One Asked For

OMG! ๐Ÿ™„ The BLACK CROWES, those guys still around? ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿ‘ต I thought theyโ€™d faded into obscurity like dial-up internet. ๐Ÿ’ป Apparently, theyโ€™re milking ๐Ÿ„ the 30th anniversary of “Amorica” with a deluxe reissue box set. Because, you know, everyone was just DYING ๐Ÿ’€ for more BLACK CROWES in their lives. Chris and Rich Robinson, the dynamic duo of sibling rivalry and mediocre rock, are back to remind us of simpler times when flannel was in and their music wasโ€ฆ well, also there. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

“Amorica”, the album that apparently exists, is dropping on November 14, 2025 via Ume. Mark your calendars, folks! Or don’t. Nobody cares. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

To celebrate this momentous occasion (said no one ever), theyโ€™ve unearthed “Bitter, Bitter You”, a track so good it didnโ€™t make the original album. ๐Ÿ”ฅ I’m sure it’s going to be a complete banger. NOT!

The deluxe box set includes “Tallest”, a whole ALBUM ๐Ÿ’ฟ of previously unreleased songs from the “Tall” sessions. Because scrapping an album once isn’t enough, letโ€™s unleash it on the world ๐ŸŒŽ years later! These are “newly mixed” by George Drakoulias and Martin Pradler, probably in their spare time between actual important projects. And get this, it includes three UNRELEASED recordings! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ You know, the ones that were unreleased for a reason. Like maybe they were terrible? ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

But wait, there’s more! ๐ŸŽ‰ We also get “The Marie Laveau Sessions”, seven previously unreleased studio recordings from 1992! Recorded during a soundcheck, because thatโ€™s when the magic happens. โœจ Also, four live songs recorded for a worldwide live radio broadcast. Because nothing says “intimate” like a worldwide broadcast. ๐Ÿ“ก

The “Amorica” album has been remastered! ๐Ÿ”จ From the original 1/4″ production master tape! As if anyone can tell the difference. ๐Ÿ‘‚ It now includes three B-sides, a Taj Mahal cover of “Chevrolet” (because why not?), and new mixes of some other songs nobody remembers. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The LP box set comes with a fanzine featuring an interview with Chris and Rich. I’m sure it’s filled with fascinating insights like, “We really hated each other back then” and “We needed the money”. ๐Ÿ’ฐ Thereโ€™s also a poster, a bumper sticker (for your minivan?), and a slip mat for your record player. Vintage!

After the massive success (debatable) of “Shake Your Money Maker” and “The Southern Harmony And Musical Companion”, the Robinson brothers felt the pressure! So, they released “Amorica”, a “bold declaration of independence.” Or a desperate attempt to stay relevant? ๐Ÿค” The title apparently means something deep and meaningful, like “love” or “art without permission.” Or maybe it was just a random word they liked. ๐Ÿคช

‘Amorica’ was about breaking free,” says Chris Robinson. Yeah, breaking free from good music and commercial success, maybe. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Rich Robinson adds: “The bond between us always came back to the music.” ๐ŸŽถ The bond that involves constant fighting and creative differences? Sounds legit. ๐Ÿ™„

This anniversary release revisits “fan favorites” like “Wiser Time” (does anyone even remember this?), while spotlighting “deep cuts.” ๐Ÿ”ช Like the ones that were buried for a reason.

The BLACK CROWES are still trying to convince us they’re iconic. ๐Ÿคก Since reuniting in 2019, they’ve played 150 concerts. Congrats? ๐ŸŽ‰ They got a Grammy nomination for “Happiness Bastards” (lol) and a Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nomination. ๐Ÿ† They also re-released a live album with Jimmy Page. Because riding on someone else’s coattails is a solid career move. ๐Ÿงฅ They remain committed to “stripped-down, bare-boned rock and roll.” AKA: loud, annoying, and outdated. ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ No gloss, no glitter, just rhythm and blues at its very best. Or worst, depending on your taste. ๐Ÿคฎ
