Minecraft's Chase The Skies Update Launches Tomorrow (as if you care)

Okay, gamers, listen up! 📢Minecraft, that blocky masterpiece you either love or pretend to hate, is getting another update. Yes, ANOTHER ONE! Prepare to be mildly inconvenienced by the “Chase the Skies” update, dropping tomorrow. Oh, and “Vibrant Visuals” is also coming, because apparently, staring at pixelated blocks wasn’t visually stimulating enough.

So, Minecraft fanatics (or should I say, mine-crafters? 😂), get ready to experience the thrill of… more stuff! Mojang, those benevolent overlords of the blocky realm, have been slaving away in their digital sweatshops to bring you this “Chase the Skies” update. And don’t forget “Vibrant Visuals,” because who needs gameplay improvements when you can have slightly shinier blocks? 🤩 They even released a video, so you can watch other people play the update before you do. How exciting! 🙄

The “Chase the Skies” update, announced way back in March (ancient history in internet years 👴), promises groundbreaking features like… a pet ghast. Yes, you heard that right. You can now have your very own floating, tentacled monstrosity from the Nether. Just what everyone wanted! 🥳 To get your hands on this majestic beast, you’ll need to find a “dried ghast” block (because apparently, ghasts can be dried like beef jerky 🥩). Then, according to the holy scriptures of the Minecraft blog, you just need “ghast tears and a soul sand block.” Easy peasy! 🤪 Leave it in water, and BAM! Instant Ghastling. Just don’t ask me what you’re supposed to do with it. Probably just watch it float around and occasionally shoot fireballs at your house. 🔥🏠

But wait, there’s more! The update also includes a player location bar, so you can stalk your friends with pinpoint accuracy. Privacy? Never heard of her. 🙅‍♀️ And if that wasn’t enough, they’ve added leads, so you can leash mobs together. Because who wouldn’t want to create a conga line of zombies? 🧟🧟🧟 Saddles are now craftable, too, because apparently finding them in dungeons was too much of a challenge for today’s gamers. 🤷‍♀️ Shears can now release specific leads from a knot of leads, keeping the rest of the knot intact. This is truly groundbreaking gameplay.

And now, for the pièce de résistance: “Vibrant Visuals”! 🎉 Remember the Super Duper Graphics Pack? Yeah, Mojang remembers too. They remember that they promised it and then unceremoniously canceled it. 💀 But don’t worry, “Vibrant Visuals” is totally different! It’s only available on Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (the version nobody asked for) and it might come to Java Edition eventually… maybe… if they feel like it. 🤔 Oh, and Marketplace Add-Ons, Skins, and Persona items will work with Vibrant Visuals. But Worlds and Texture Packs won’t be compatible at launch, because why make things easy? 🤷

Of course, there’s a catch. Turning on “Vibrant Visuals” means no splitscreen multiplayer. Because who needs friends when you can have slightly better graphics? 🫂 The update promises “rebalanced light and shadow enhancements,” which basically means your blocks will look slightly less blocky. You’ll get to see “water reflections, shaded forests, fog drifts, and waterfalls glimmering from the beautiful sun’s rays.” In other words, the same old Minecraft, but with a fresh coat of paint. 🎨

So, there you have it. The “Chase the Skies” and “Vibrant Visuals” updates, coming to a device near you (if your device is supported, that is). Get ready to experience the same game you’ve been playing for years, but with a few minor tweaks and a whole lot of hype. Hype! 🚂💨
