This “No Secret Police Act” is just another way for California to thumb its nose at federal law. Sen. Wiener, a Democrat from San Francisco, wants to make it a crime for law enforcement to cover their faces. Never mind the threats these officers face daily from the MS-13 thugs and radical leftists they’re trying to deport!
DHS is calling this “despicable,” and rightly so! ICE officers are facing a 400% increase in assaults. But do these virtue-signaling California politicians care? Of course not! They’re too busy pandering to the open-borders crowd and undermining our national security.
Wiener claims he wants to “boost transparency and public trust.” What a joke! This is about intimidating law enforcement and paving the way for more illegal immigration. And the bit about protecting against people impersonating law enforcement? Please! This is about protecting the criminals, not the citizens.
“They are grabbing people off our streets and disappearing people, and it’s terrifying,” Wiener whines. No, Senator, what’s terrifying is your radical agenda and the way you’re turning California into a sanctuary state for criminals and terrorists!
Remember the immigration raids in LA? The left went nuts! Trump had to send in the National Guard to restore order. Now these California politicians want to make sure that never happens again by tying the hands of law enforcement.
Todd Lyons, ICE’s acting director, is right to defend his officers’ use of facemasks. They’re protecting themselves from death threats and online harassment. But in California, it seems, protecting criminals is more important than protecting our law enforcement.
