A man, Jordende Pierre, 29, is accused of kidnapping a woman he met on a dating app, holding her captive in a Boston-area attic, and sexually assaulting her for six weeks. I mean, what kind of person does this? The woman was found on September 20 by the apartment’s landlord, who was there to fix a leak, and she was in pretty rough shape – undressed, lying on a mat, and near a bucket of urine. Prosecutors said she “clearly had not eaten, she was dirty, she was living essentially in squalor in this attic area.” That’s just heartbreaking.
I’m looking at the details of this case, and it’s just shocking. Pierre allegedly met the woman on a dating app, picked her up from a rehab facility, and then brought her back to the apartment, where he gave her drugs and forced her to engage in sexual encounters with at least six other men for money. The woman was held against her will, and the door handle of the attic was removed, so she couldn’t even leave. It’s just appalling.
The landlord, Qing Sun, discovered the woman when she went to check on a water leak, and she immediately called the authorities. She said in an interview that it was a “disturbing situation” and that she’s happy to have been able to help the young girl get back to her family. I think that’s just great – a good Samaritan who helped bring this terrible situation to an end.
The US Marshals Service and the FBI were involved in the investigation, and they arrested Pierre a few days after the woman was found. He’s pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, human trafficking, and indecent assault and battery on a person over 14. I hope he gets the justice he deserves.
The head of the US Marshals Service for the District of Massachusetts, Dennis Matulewicz, said that the allegations in this case are “deeply disturbing” and that no person should ever be subjected to this kind of violence and exploitation. I couldn’t agree more. It’s just terrible what this woman went through.
In conclusion, this is just a horrific story, and I’m glad that the authorities were able to rescue the woman and bring the perpetrator to justice. It’s a reminder that there are still some really bad people out there, but it’s also a reminder that there are good people who can make a difference. And to think, this all started with a dating app – it just goes to show that you never really know who you’re meeting online, do you? 😊
