Oh boy, are you guys ready for some hot takes? 🤣 SHINEDOWN’s Zach Myers is sounding off about people using A.I. music generators, and let me tell you, he is NOT having it 😂. In a recent interview with Primordial Radio, Zach said, “That’s awful. Here’s the thing, man. All these Nashville guys who are writing with that — I don’t even know the name of the app… [But it’s] awful. Awful. You can hear it, dude. It’s so bad. How about you actually live a little life, go through some shit, and then write a song about it? 🎸👎
I mean, can you blame him? 🤷♂️ I mean, who needs human emotions and experiences when you can just have a robot spit out some generic melodies and harmonies? 🤖🎵 It’s not like music is about connecting with people on a deeper level or anything… 🙄 Zach continued, “Here’s the thing: you can write with other people, [but] I’m not writing with artificial intelligence. I ask ChatGPT a million questions a day. It’s not ‘how to write a song’ or ‘write a song with me.'” 🤔
And let’s be real, folks, if you’re using A.I. to write your songs, you’re basically just phoning it in 📞. I mean, where’s the creativity? The passion? The soul? 🎶💔 Zach said, “I get it. Again, everything starts with a good purpose, right? Everything. The Internet started with a good purpose. Now it’s just us talking shit about each other, and usually most people are doing it from their parents’ basement Wi-Fi.” 🤣👀
But seriously, using A.I. to make music is just lazy 🛋️. As Zach said, “Listen, if you can sleep at night and you got a Number One song because you wrote it with your iPhone and some computer told you how to sing it, that’s your burden to carry, man, not mine.” 🙅♂️ And let’s not forget, SHINEDOWN has had 24 Number One songs without using a computer 🎉. Talk about #goals 🎯
SHINEDOWN’s Brent Smith also weighed in on the debate, saying, “For us, we’re not into it. We want music to be made by people with souls and with a consciousness.” 🙏 And honestly, who can blame them? 🤷♂️ I mean, music is a powerful thing, and when it’s made with love and passion, it can be truly transcendent 🌟. As Brent said, “There’s an energy between people that are alive… And there’s something incredible about when you put human beings in a room with each other and give them instruments, and you’re pushing air, there is something electric that happens.” 🎸💥
So, to all you wannabe musicians out there, let this be a lesson: if you want to make real music, you need to put in the work 💪. Don’t rely on A.I. to do it for you 🤖. As Zach said, “Don’t use A.I. to do your work for you.” 🙅♂️ And if you do, well, you might just find yourself sleeping with the robots 🤖😴. SHINEDOWN’s new album “Ei8ht” is out now, and they’re currently on tour with some amazing bands 🎸🌟. Go check them out and experience some real music, made by real people, with real souls 🎶💖. 🎉👏
