The most epic movie announcement of the century is here, and we’re not even slightly excited 🙄! Get ready for the thrilling, action-packed, and totally-not-a-mess Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo 🎥! A movie so intense, it’ll make you question the very fabric of reality… or at least make you roll your eyes so hard they get stuck that way 🙄. The plot is a real brain-twister 🧐: a disgraced Tokyo detective (because, of course, he’s disgraced 🤦‍♂️) gets entangled in a web of corruption, addiction, and violence (yawn 🤯) involving a vengeful ex-Yakuza (aka the coolest guy in the movie 🤖), an enigmatic FBI agent (because every movie needs a mysterious FBI agent 🕵️‍♀️), and a missing daughter of a powerful American family (aka the rich people who will definitely not be stereotypes 🤑). Wow, what a unique and not-at-all-clichéd plot 🙄!

The movie is directed by the super-talented Takashi Miike (who probably didn’t have anything better to do 🤔) and written by Daisuke Tengan (who probably got paid a lot of money to write this script 💸). It’s the third installment in the Bad Lieutenant film series, because who doesn’t love a good trilogy 🤩? And it’s a standalone sequel to Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009), because who remembers that movie anyway 🙅‍♂️? The film stars Shun Oguri, Lily James, and Liv Morgan, aka the most talented actors who could be bothered to show up on set 🎬.

We’re not sure what’s more exciting, the plot or the fact that this movie is premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2026 🎉! We mean, who wouldn’t want to watch a movie about corruption, addiction, and violence in the sweltering heat of a Toronto summer 🥵? It’s not like there are better things to do, like watching paint dry or waiting in line at the DMV 🤣.

The movie is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2026, because of course it is 🙄. We can’t wait to see the thrilling action sequences, the gripping plot twists, and the inevitably terrible acting 🎭. It’s going to be a wild ride, folks 🎢! So, mark your calendars for September 2026 and get ready to be underwhelmed by Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo 🎉! 🎊

And, because we love you, we’ve included some exciting images from the movie 📸! Aren’t they just thrilling 🤯? We especially love the one with the guy looking all tough and stuff 🤖. It’s not like we’ve seen that exact same image a million times before 🙄.
