A new leak has emerged, and it’s time to get hyped (or not) about a potential Devil May Cry remake 🤔! According to some “leaker” on the internet (because, you know, the internet is always 100% trustworthy 🙄), a remake of the original Devil May Cry is “pretty far along” in development at Capcom 🚀. But, let’s be real, we’ve heard this all before, and it’s not like Capcom has a track record of announcing games and then actually releasing them on time 🕰️… oh wait, who am I kidding? They totally do 🙃!
So, allegedly, this remake is being worked on using the amazing RE Engine, which has already proven itself with the Resident Evil remakes 🧟♂️. I mean, who doesn’t love a good remake, right? 🙌 It’s not like we’re all just going to end up playing the same game we played 20 years ago with slightly better graphics 🤷♀️. And hey, maybe they’ll even throw in some new features, like a “remastered” storyline that’s still convoluted and hard to follow 📚.
The latest rumor comes from some dude on X (formerly Twitter, because who needs a brand identity, anyway? 🤷♂️) who claims to have insider info 🤫. But don’t worry, he’s not just some random guy on the internet; he’s a “leaker” with a proven track record of… well, leaking stuff 🤔. And, of course, the director of Devil May Cry, Hideki Kamiya, has expressed interest in working on a remake 🎉. Because, you know, he’s not busy making other games or anything 🙄.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But what about DmC: Devil May Cry from 2013?” 🤔 Well, let’s just forget about that one, shall we? 🙅♂️ It’s not like it’s still a thing or anything 🙄. And, hey, who needs continuity when you can just reboot the series and start from scratch? 🔄. I mean, it’s not like fans have been waiting for a proper sequel to Devil May Cry 4 since 2008 or anything 🕰️.
Capcom has been killing it (no pun intended 🙅♂️) with their remakes and mainline games, with Resident Evil Requiem and Onimusha: Way of the Sword on the horizon 🌅. And, let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good remake? 🙌 It’s not like they’re just cashing in on nostalgia or anything 🤑. I mean, the sales numbers for the Resident Evil remakes are just staggering 📊: 18.3 million copies of RE 2, 13.6 million copies of RE 3, and 13.4 million copies of RE 4 🤯. Maybe they can recreate that magic with a Devil May Cry remake 🎉.
With new fans jumping into the world through Adi Shankar and Netflix’s Devil May Cry animated series 📺, maybe it’s time to give them a proper introduction to the original games 🎮. I mean, who needs a modernized version of the original game when you can just play the old one with outdated graphics and gameplay? 🙄. But, hey, a remake could be a great way to bring new players into the fold, as long as they don’t mess it up 🤞.
And, as a cherry on top, Capcom is releasing the Devil May Cry 5 Devil Hunter Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 🎮. Because, you know, what’s a better way to experience a game from 2019 than on a console that’s still not out yet? 🤔. But, hey, maybe this is all just a clever ploy to distract us from the fact that they’re not actually working on a remake 🤷♀️. Or maybe, just maybe, they’ll surprise us all and announce a remake at E3 🎉. A fan can dream, right? 😴
