We get it, Adol is the Ginger McAdventurer of everyone’s dreams, but can we get some actual NEW content instead of recycling the same tired formula? And Trails? Don’t even get me STARTED on the convoluted mess that is Trails. Three games in 2025? Are they TRYING to bankrupt us? But wait… there’s MORE! A FOURTH game? In the form of a CROSSOVER FIGHTING GAME? My brain hurts already.🧠
So, yeah, apparently Refint/Games (whoever THEY are) decided to bless (or curse) us with *Ys vs Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga*. Because, you know, what the world REALLY needs is more anime sword fights. It’s like they took *Super Smash Bros.*, replaced all the interesting characters with JRPG protagonists who all look suspiciously similar, and cranked the power level up to eleven. Dissidia Final Fantasy? More like Dissidia: Who Cares Anymore?😴
Okay, so apparently this thing originally crawled out of the primordial ooze that is the PlayStation Portable back in 2010. The PSP? Really? Is this some kind of archaeological dig? I’m surprised they didn’t announce it for the Atari 2600 while they were at it. And of course, it was stuck in Japan because nobody in their right mind thought it would sell ANYWHERE else. But NOW, NOW is the time for this forgotten relic to grace our shores! 🤩

Oh, the DRAMA! The LEGENDS! It’s so HISTORIC! I can barely contain my excitement. And Xanadu? The Dragon King? Is this a rejected D&D campaign? I swear, JRPG plotlines are just getting more and more ridiculous. 🤪
But wait, there’s a glimmer of hope! (Maybe.) Updated visuals! New voice acting! From the “current” actors! So, basically, they’re slapping a fresh coat of paint on a rusty old jalopy and hoping we won’t notice the engine is still sputtering. I’m sure the voice acting will be *amazing*. So much screaming. So much heartfelt monologuing. 🤮
2025 is the year of Falcom, apparently. They’re flooding the market with so much Trails content, we’ll be drowning in angst and political intrigue before we know it. NIS America is localizing *Trails Through Daybreak 2* (because the first one wasn’t confusing enough, I guess), and then there’s *Trails Beyond the Horizon* (which sounds suspiciously like they’re running out of title ideas). And let’s not forget the *Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter* remake! Because we NEED to relive the magic of a game that’s already been remade TWICE. 🙄
