OMG, another Superman article? ๐ As if we haven’t seen enough spandex-clad saviors. Apparently, some fanboy decided to bless us with his vision of David Corenswet in a video game. Because, you know, what the world REALLY needs is another Superman adaptation. ๐๐๐
It’s been, like, FOREVER (20 years, apparently, which in internet years is basically the Stone Age) since the last Superman game. And why? Because it’s “too hard” to make a game where the dude can’t die. Like, duh! What are you gonna do, make him fight taxes? ๐คฃ Oh wait, they tried to make the city his health in Superman Returns? Groundbreaking! ๐คก๐คก๐คก No wonder that idea flopped harder than Superman in a Kryptonite factory. Warner Bros. is “interested” in new Superman games? Yeah, and I’m interested in winning the lottery. Doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

But wait, there’s more! A fan (bless his heart โค๏ธ) took it upon himself to imagine what a Corenswet Superman game might look like. Because James Gunn is gonna save DC gaming, right? ๐ So, this Reddit user (who clearly has too much time on their hands) made a render of Corenswet’s Superman. And guess what? They “slightly altered” the suit to remove the wrinkles. ๐ฑ Wrinkles! On Superman! The horror! As if that’s the biggest problem with Superman adaptations. ๐
Of course, there’s no guarantee this game will ever see the light of day. But hey, at least we have fan art! ๐ It’s totally unlikely the game will adapt the movies directly. Instead, it’ll tell a side story with Lex Luthor and Lois Lane. Because we haven’t seen THAT before. ๐๐๐
They are trying to pull a The Amazing Spider-Man move, where the game is set after the movie. How original! And James Gunn will “supervise” to make sure it fits into the DC universe. Yeah, because that’s been working out SO well lately. ๐คฃ The DC video game universe is “in a rough state” because they cancelled a Flash game and a Wonder Woman game? No way! I thought everything was sunshine and rainbows! ๐๐๐
Do I want a new Superman game? ๐ค Let me think… NO. But hey, leave your thoughts in the comments below! ๐ (I won’t read them.) ๐
