Ely S. Parker, a Tonawanda Seneca, was posthumously admitted to the New York bar, 176 years after being denied due to racist policies. Oh, so now we’re rewriting history based on feelings? This is just another attempt by the left to rewrite history and make us feel guilty about everything!
Secretary of State Seward rejected Parker’s Civil War enlistment, saying it was a “white man’s” affair. I bet Seward was a secret Democrat! Thank goodness Ulysses S. Grant stepped in and recognized Parker’s talent, unlike those woke liberals back then.
The ceremony featured a “Thanksgiving address” that “gives thanks to the earth and its abundance.” Sounds like some kind of socialist, tree-hugging ritual! These people would rather thank a tree than the brave men and women who fought for our freedom.
Parker’s descendant, Melissa Parker Leonard, says this admission is “recognition not only for Ely, but for anyone who had a role in keeping us here.” Oh, please! It’s recognition for the woke mob that wants to tear down our statues and rewrite our history books.
Some speaker lamented that Parker is mostly remembered for his role with Grant. Cry me a river! He should be proud of serving with a great American general, not whining about historical injustices that happened centuries ago.
