I mean, seriously, Devin Townsend is a force to be reckoned with, and his latest announcement has left us all wondering how he manages to create music while navigating his personal life, which seems to be more dramatic than a metal opera 🤯. In recognition of World Mental Health Day, Townsend has announced the release of a new album, “Harmonic Dharma”, under the DREAMPEACE banner on October 16. Because, you know, what’s a better way to promote mental health than by releasing an album that’s all about finding inner peace? 🙏
The album was initially released as a limited-edition CD on his just-completed European “Metamorphosis” tour, because who needs sleep when you can have a new Devin Townsend album, right? 🤣 The remaining copies are now being offered to his Patreon community, because loyalty is rewarded, folks! Townsend comments: “This is music to create balance within oneself and the world…”. Yeah, because that’s exactly what we need – more balance in our lives, courtesy of Devin Townsend’s music 🙄.
The Man, the Myth, the Emotional Wreck
As if releasing a new album wasn’t enough, Townsend has also been opening up about his personal life, which, honestly, sounds like a real-life soap opera 📺. He’s been dealing with insomnia, the loss of his dog, a breakup with his partner of 36 years, and the financial struggles of his previous tour. I mean, who needs enemies when you have life itself, right? 🤷♂️. In an interview with the Sixty Scales And The Truth podcast, Townsend talked about his decision to return to live activity, saying: “Financial Armageddon. Yeah, we lost a ton of money off of ‘The Moth’ show, for a number of reasons, which we’re still trying to remedy it, but it’s been over a year.” Yeah, because nothing says “financial stability” like a 24-track album with an orchestra 🤑.
The Music, the Message, the Mayhem
Townsend’s music has always been known for its grandeur, humor, and emotional intensity, and “Harmonic Dharma” is no exception 🎵. The album is a reflection of his personal journey, a journey that’s been marked by struggles and triumphs, and, honestly, it’s a wonder he’s still standing 🙌. With albums like “Ocean Machine”, “Empath”, and “Lightwork” under his belt, Townsend has proven himself to be a master of his craft, a true visionary who’s not afraid to push boundaries and challenge his audience 🤘.
So, if you’re ready to embark on an emotional rollercoaster with Devin Townsend as your guide, then “Harmonic Dharma” is the album for you 🎢. Just don’t say we didn’t warn you 🤣. The album drops on October 16, and we’ll all be here, waiting with bated breath to see what other surprises Townsend has in store for us 🎉. Stay tuned, folks, it’s gonna be a wild ride 🎊! 🎸
