Exodus Tries Really Hard to Not Get Sued by Bioware for Being a Mass Effect Clone in 20-Minute Gameplay Demo That Weve All Seen Before

Oh boy, are you guys ready for some serious gamer drama? 🎮👀 Because Archetype Entertainment just dropped a 20-minute gameplay demo for Exodus, and let’s just say it’s looking pretty familiar 🤔. I mean, who needs originality when you can just copy the best, right? 😜

So, Exodus is set in the far future of humanity, because of course it is 🚀. It’s all about a salvager named Juna Aslan trying to save his homeworld from a Celestial virus known as “The Rot” 🤢. Yeah, because that’s not a cliché at all 🙄. You’ll get to travel across the Centauri cluster, exploring new planets and meeting new characters, all while trying to find a cure for the virus 🚀. Yawn 🙄.

But wait, it gets better! 🤩 The gameplay demo shows off some pretty cool combat mechanics, including a grappling hook and rocket grenades 🚀. And, of course, you’ll have to make some tough choices that will affect the fate of entire planets and civilizations 🌎. Because, you know, that’s not something we’ve seen before in every other sci-fi RPG 🙄.

The game’s director, Chris King, says that players will have a lot of freedom to experiment with different skill trees and character builds 🤔. Because, you know, who needs a linear storyline when you can just make it up as you go along? 📝. And, of course, the game will have some “complex relationships” with party members, because that’s not a trope at all 🙄.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Is this just a Mass Effect clone?” 🤔. And to that, I say… guilty as charged 🤷‍♂️! But hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? 🤷‍♂️. The game’s developers are all former BioWare employees, so it’s not like they’re trying to hide the fact that they’re inspired by Mass Effect 🙃.

In fact, Archetype’s general manager, Chad Robertson, says that they “love the comparison to Mass Effect” 🙏. Because, you know, who wouldn’t want to be compared to one of the most iconic sci-fi RPGs of all time? 🙄. He also says that the game will have some unique features, like time dilation, which is a real physics phenomenon 🕰️. Because, you know, science 🤓.

So, if you’re ready for some more Mass Effect-style action, then Exodus might be the game for you 🎮. It’s scheduled to release in early 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC 📆. But let’s be real, we all know it’s just going to be a rehashing of the same old sci-fi tropes 🙄. Oh well, at least it’ll be fun to play, right? 🎉.

👀 So, what do you guys think? Are you hyped for Exodus, or are you just tired of the same old sci-fi RPGs? 🤔 Let me know in the comments below! 💬 And don’t forget to like and subscribe for more gaming content 📚! 👍
