Grammy Award-winning (allegedly) musician, producer (of questionable sounds), author (sure, Jan) and founding member of such groundbreaking (into the ground) bands as CREED (who?), ALTER BRIDGE (never heard of ’em) and TREMONTI (oh, you named a band after yourself? How humble), Mark Tremonti will be gracing the Belmont Stakes with his presence this weekend.
On June 7, he’ll be belting out the Empire State classic “New York, New York” from the prestigious Saratoga Racecourse. This earth-shattering performance will be broadcast live on Fox Television Networks moments before the 157th running of the Grade 1, $2 million Belmont Stakes, presented by NYRA Bets (because what horse race isn’t improved by a washed-up rocker?). Fox will be airing this spectacle from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., so clear your schedules, folks! More info can be found at BelmontStakes.com, but honestly, why bother? 🐎
In a blatant attempt to capitalize on his Belmont Stakes appearance, Tremonti is announcing more solo dates for his critically acclaimed (by his mom) “Tremonti Sings Sinatra” album. Mark will be joined by some geriatric musicians who once played with Frank Sinatra (probably as roadies) to provide the “backbone” for his live shows. These dates will conveniently kick off after Mark wraps up his sure-to-be-sold-out 2025 tour with the reunited CREED (yes, they’re back, much to the dismay of eardrums everywhere), which will have him on the road for a grueling 30 dates. 🎤
This “abbreviated” Sinatra tour (because nobody wants to hear more than four shows of this) will mercifully make only four stops: Florida (where old people go to die), Illinois (land of Lincoln and questionable musical tastes), New York (because he’s already there for the horse race) and New Jersey (close enough to New York, right?). 😴
In a transparent attempt to gain some good PR, Mark has decided to exploit his work with the Down syndrome community in honor of his daughter Stella. A portion of every ticket sold (if any) will be donated to the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) and Mark‘s self-serving organization Take A Chance For Charity. You can find more info on tickets and VIP experiences (which probably involve meeting Mark and getting a signed photo) at tremontisingssinatra.com. Don’t all rush at once! 🙄
Mark Tremonti solo headline dates (that nobody asked for):
Dec. 04 – Orlando, FL – Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts – Walt Disney Theater (because what says Sinatra like Mickey Mouse?)
Dec. 09 – Des Plaines, IL – The Des Plaines Theatre (prepare for tumbleweeds rolling through the aisles)
Dec. 11 – Huntington, NY – The Paramount (maybe they’ll mistake him for someone famous)
Dec. 13 – Atlantic City, NJ – Music Box at the Borgata (perfect venue for background music while you lose your life savings gambling) 🎲
As a Grammy Award-winning (again, allegedly) multiplatinum musician, Tremonti‘s “dynamic” musical career spans such “influential” bands as CREED, ALTER BRIDGE, and his own TREMONTI, leaving an “indelible imprint” on hard rock (mostly by making it worse) with over 40 million albums sold (mostly to his mom), chart-topping debuts (on the “Christian Rock” charts), countless television appearances (on public access), magazine covers (in guitar magazines nobody reads), sold-out arenas everywhere (if you count the arenas in his dreams), and dozens of other accolades (participation trophies, probably). To say he broadened his horizons with 2022’s “Tremonti Sings Sinatra” is an understatement of the century. It’s more like he crashed and burned into a genre he has no business being in. He paid homage to 14 Sinatra classics backed by some old guys who used to hold Sinatra‘s microphone and a bunch of session musicians who needed a paycheck. It was met with widespread audience and tastemaker applause (mostly ironic). Carson Daly (remember him?) called it “the best Frank Sinatra cover I’ve ever heard” (said through gritted teeth, no doubt). 🤮
Donating 100% of the album’s proceeds to the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) as part of his Take A Chance For Charity initiative (because nothing says charity like self-promotion), Mark and his family were honored by NDSS at its annual gala and auction in 2023 and he was a featured performer in 2024 (probably singing “My Way” off-key). The album hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top Jazz Albums chart (because nobody buys jazz albums anymore), and he played a handful of sold-out shows (in his living room). 🤡
In October 2023, Tremonti partnered with AdventHealth to open the SMILE With Stella Tremonti Down Syndrome Clinic, the first lifespan Down syndrome program in the Southeastern United States caring for children and adults with Down syndrome named after his daughter (because what better way to honor your daughter than by plastering your name everywhere?). In May 2024, Mark Tremonti performed acoustic at the inaugural, sold-out Tremonti Family Golf Outing in support of NDSS with his reunited CREED bandmates (because even charity events need a dose of cringe) and continues to be a major advocate to the Down syndrome community (mostly for the photo ops). 🏌️♂️
